'The Young and the Restless' Weekly Recap: Week ending May 02, 2008

From Diane Adams, for About.com

The day of Reed's Christening was upon them and the Newman's were looking forward to celebrating the newest addition to the family. On the other hand, Victoria became relieved when JT told her that Adam would not be attending and she so hoped that Sabrina would also stay away. During the ceremony the godparents both had things to say to Reed, Nick, who said that he would make sure that Reed was raised as a Cubs fan and Phyllis reiterated that the two of them would always be there for him during his lifetime. Lily and Cane learned that there would be no baby for them after all. Back at the Christening Nikki complimented her daughter on allowing Sabrina to remain at the event taking place, while Adam who brought a gift, left it outside rather than make a scene. At work, Victor changed Adam and Victoria's positions making Victoria upset, but that was nothing compared to how riled she became when Victor later made another change, by changing the position of Victoria and Adam again. Adam's "friend" Skye arrived from New York and soon sent Genoa City on its heels. First she managed to "con" Brad into allowing her to participate in his poker game, and then she managed to clean up, taking special notice of David Chow, who was in attendance. After Jeffrey had made plans to get closer to Gloria, after spending the night with her, she rebuffed him and he ended up cancelling his plans to woo her. Phyllis was surprised by Nicholas' anniversary surprise for her and enjoyed the "remember when" part of their relationship as Nicholas had Trace Adkins appear to sing a song for her. Jeffrey moved into the guest wing of the Chancellor house by invitation from Jill, which irked Gloria, who wondered what was going on. Nikki was worried as she told her friend, Paul, that she feared, David had returned to his old addiction, gambling, in which case she couldn't and didn't trust him.
