Miss Monday, September 29's episode of The Young and the Restless? Then you missed a good 'un. Here's what happened:
Many of us have been waiting a looong time for the return of Ashley Abbott (played by Eileen Davidson), and she's finally back. Today, she sits down to break bread with siblings Jack and Traci. There's not a lot of small talk on the agenda, however. Jack gets right down to business: he wants Ashley and Traci's proxy shares of Jabot!
Of course, Jack tells his sibs that this move is in the best interest of the entire Abbott family, but Ashley won't budge. Jack tells her he has the inside track and that if he snags control, Jabot will be theirs.
Ash remains unconvinced and wants to know how Jack can be so sure. He has an silent partner in crime, he says, but won't name Gloria as that partner. Good thing, because if you'll remember, Gloria never did get Katherine's shares, despite what she told Jack.
Finally, Jack's last Ace of Spades shows up to surprise Ashley and Traci - Billy! The sisters are shocked to see him.
I love that Eileen Davidson is being utilized in a heavy story from the get-go and I can't wait to see where this all goes. Will the Abbott clan rise again? Will Jack finally give Victor the serious run for his money that he's always wanted? Time will tell, but I'm already hooked on this new development for sure, how about you?
In other Genoa City news...
- Lauren tells Eden that she has to go to school, but Eden balks. She's never been to traditional school before. No prob, says Lauren, and fills Eden in on how to react to the other students. Eden is not thrilled with the situation, but gives in since Michael is doing all he can to help River and she feels as though she owes him. Naturally, not all goes well and Eden hightails it out of school once she hears a couple teachers gossiping about her dad. Lauren's not having it, and hauls her buns back to class.
- Michael visits River in the clink and announces that he got Riv's trial moved to Genoa City instead of Michigan so he can be around for Eden. River tells Michael he doesn't want him as his attorney, but would rather stay with Hippie Lawyer. Michael pleads with him to reconsider and plays the Eden card. Finally, after professing that their meeting at Kevin and Jana's wedding was fate, River gives in and hires Michael to be his council. Michael's thrilled and is totally confident he can win Riv's case.
- At Jabot, Jill sticks her nose in at a staff meeting and Cane reems her out afterwards. He tells her that Katherine thinks he's doing a great job as CEO, and so does he for that matter, and asks Jill to let him do his job. After a meeting with Katherine, Jill feels guilty and apologizes to Cane, though she still has her doubts that he's right for the job. Katherine tells Jill she only feels that way because she can't control Cane right now and that kills her.
- After a run-in with Katherine, Jeffrey finds out that Gloria lied to him about securing Katherine's shares of Jabot. Glo claims she only lied because she didn't want him to be disappointed in her, and besides, she lied and told Jack she had gotten them. Jeff delights in Gloria's deception toward Jack, but begs her not to lie to him anymore.
- Later, Gloria and Jeffrey both run into Katherine, who babbles wrong names and circumstances, then claims she was just having fun. Glo and Jeff know better and wonder who else might know about Katherine's "senior moments". The two scheme about how they can use Katherine's slipping memory to their benefits.
- Nick, Victoria and Nikki become concerned when they can't find Victor and Nick calls Michael who refuses to squeal on Victor's whereabouts. Nick has a letter he wants to give to Victor, and Nikki suggests Nick will have to get creative if he wants Victor to even take a look at it, given his current mental state. In the meantime, Victoria finds a sketch of Sabrina along with an ultrasound picture of Victor and Sabrina's baby. Nick takes the sketch and props it up where Victor can see it and leaves the letter alongside of it.
- At the end of the show, a pilot tells Victor to buckle up because they're about to land. Where, oh where, is Victor Newman headed now??
