Young and the Restless Recap: December 11, 2007

From Diane Adams, for About.com

After having another rough day, Ben suggested to Jack that he make a statement of some sort. Jack was in deep thought when Sharon walked in, whereupon Ben stepped into the other room to give them time alone. Jack told her that he went back to the ranch but she was gone, and she responded that she was with Brad. Feeling somewhat sorry for himself, he told her that he might have to resign or face impeachment. Sharon's comment that everything that was happening to him, was because of what he had done. She then railed into him blaming him again for having to lie to Noah without thinking what it would be like for him when the truth came out.

Jack had Ben call a "press conference." Jack stood before the podium and announced his resignation. He thanked those who stood beside him especially his family. He wished his successor luck.

David had a suggestion for Nikki as she spoke of the difficulties that she would have staying at Victor's. He suggested that she buy her own place where Victoria could be taken care of with state of the art equipment and the best help that money could buy.

Nikki thought about it but felt it would be better if things just remained the same, with Victoria waking up to things that were familiar to her. Running into Sharon, Nikki and Sharon decided that she could stay at Sharon's old place where she would still be close to Victoria while being apart from Victor.

Going to the hospital, Victor ran into Brad and J.T. Both potential dads were tired from worrying about the baby and even more upset when Victor was able to find out more information than they could. While visiting the baby, Victor was sent out when the baby started to experience some breathing problems. The doctor came out to announce to Victor and J.T., Brad and Nikki that they would have to do a blood test. The two men then begged for a paternity test to be done. They went to Victor, who didn't want to do it, since he would lose the final say about what happened to the baby, but then gave in and said that the test could be done.
