Michael and Kevin, in the comfort of their living room, start to have a serious conversation. Michael tells Kevin that he wants what is best for him. He says that Lauren wasn't the right one for him. Kevin wants to know why. Michael tries gently as possible to tell his brother, that her life style, age, and other things made it difficult plus the fact that she always saw him only as a friend. Michael thinks that Kevin is pushing for him to say something else. Michael tells him that you can't make a woman love you. She has to do that on her own. It is her free choice. Michael tells him that Lauren values his friendship, but she made it clear to you from the beginning that she saw you only as a friend. Kevin asks him if she wanted someone else, someone better. "No," says Michael, someone different. No matter what Michael says, as he tries to be both supportive and sympathetic to Kevin, Kevin knows what he saw and knows their secret. Kevin asks him how he would feel if the woman of his dreams, told him that being his friend is all that she could handle? Michael, tells Kevin, that he doesn't know it, but he went through years of the same thing, with Christine Williams. It was the pits for him, but, look, I survived and you will also. Kevin tells Michael that he just has to quit fantasizing over Lauren and accept the facts. He reminds Michael that he kept telling him that Lauren wasn't the right woman for him. He tells Michael that Lauren is one terrific lady and you might want to take a second look at her yourself, just to keep it in the family. He tells Michael that he will be all right. Facing reality is a new thing for him, but, he will get through it. He leaves and goes into his room. On the inside of his room, Kevin breaks down emotionally and sobs.

At the restaurant, Lauren has joined Christine and Paul. They are all chatting about Kevin. Lauren says that when Kevin is with her, he is charming and sweet, but deep down he is really messed up. Somehow it went from I don't have feelings for you into rose petals to try and romance her. Chris tells her that it sounds more like an obsession. Paul warns her not to take any chances. She tells them that Michael is going to have a talk with him tonight, and then Kevin will have to face, yet, another disappointment.
