Young and the Restless Recap: July 3, 2006

Phyllis and Nick are in the plane talking about their ride that brought them to Mexico and home. She mentions to him about not wanting her baby to have part time parents, that she thinks that it might be better just to have a life for the two of them together. Nicholas says that he won't leave her alone no matter what. He won't cause her any problems, whatever she wants will be fine. She wants her child to have a life like those she sees on tv, but knows for sure that it can't be that way. He asks her. "what if the baby is Jack's?" She tells Nicholas that she can't have another child taken away from her. She knows that Jack would want to do everything to make up for not being there when his son was around also. She tells Nicholas that she either has a father for her baby who is married to another woman or a man who hates her. She changes the subject by saying that if their conversation gets anymore serious that they will sink the plane. Nicholas asks her who she would like the father to be? She tells him that it doesn't matter what she wants, that they are both amazing men. He would like her to do a DNA test. The plane is about to land and the two of them head back to the office. Once they arrive, Sharon comes in, relieved and happy to see them both. She is glad that they are back and hopes that their trips went well. Phyllis leaves the office so the two of them can catch up. Outside the door, she listens as Sharon tells Nick that she has a special dinner planned for him, to celebrate the night when he first proposed to her.

Victoria and Abby go to see Victor. Brad tells Victoria that he doesn't mind since Victor has found it fitting to welcome him into the company. At the main house, Nikki is telling Victor that she feels it necessary for him to have more tests done. Nikki tells Victoria that Victor had passed out. They both fuss over him and he tries to put them both off. In the meantime, Victor has an indoor picnic with Noah and Abby. He spends time showing them how to spit watermelon seeds while Victoria finds delight in what he is doing, and wishes that she had memories of that also. Victoria still finds it odd but Victoria says that maybe he is trying to make up for the time that he didn't spend with his children as they were growing up. He talks to the children about fishing off off a wooden stick like pole as a youngster. As this is going on, Nikki remembers Victor's taking the financing away from NVP because of Phyllis working there, and his removing Nicholas and Victoria a CEO's of Newman's so that he could take over again. Later, Nikki tells Victor that she loves the man that she married and wouldn't change a thing. Victor puts on music and dances with Nikki, then collapses.

Sharon pays Brad a visit. She notices all the security that has been placed around his home. Sharon tells Brad that she had only two really bad things happen in her marriage, that she had to get over, one was Cassie dying and the other is Nicholas' affair with Phyllis. She tells him that she knows what it is like to share special moments, and that she now believes that the affair just happened. She tells him that they could all use a clean slate. The doorbell rings and it is someone that Victor supposedly sent over to check the security that he had installed. Victor assumes as he tells Sharon that he is disappointed that Victor still doesn't think that he can take care of his family yet. Sharon tells Brad that if he ever needs someone to lean on, he will always be able to lean on her as he has been the best friend ever. Sharon tells Brad that she hopes he can communicate with Victoria like the two of them can. Sharon leaves and Brad goes to his computer. He is looking at an article in a newspaper clipping about a family being slaughtered in Parma. Victoria comes into the house and tells her that he was checking on all the other burglaries in the area. He tells her how much he loves the home and the people in it.
