'Young and the Restless' Recap: May 06, 2008

From Diane Adams, for About.com

Having received a "text" from Victoria, the conversation between Phyllis and Nicholas ended. Phyllis therefore had to meet with Adam alone. However, Nicholas heard some good news when he reached Victoria. She told him that she had quit Newman's. The two of them began to laugh contemplating the making of a Newman's Anonymous for the both of them. Nicholas told Victoria that he didn't think it would be too long before Adam was ready to join them.

At their meeting, Adam and Phyllis clashed over the Newman account. He had been told that the ad needed to be moved, but he stated that he would pull the ad if that were done. Phyllis then told him to speak with Victoria before he decided on a method of action.

Victor was sad when Sabrina came in to see him. He told her that Victoria had quit. He made a rather cryptic remark about his own children by saying that the son he hadn't raised was showing more promise than the ones he did raise. Sabrina thought that Nicholas and Victoria would return after they had made their own mark on society.

Neil went to see Victoria asking her to take a leave, but Victoria told him that she had left the company for good and accepted a job at Jabot.

Later, Gloria was on the phone trying to clear up her intentions of making a sizable donation to charity. Jill happened by and heard part of the conversation but not enough to know what was said that was important. Jill then heard that Nikki had hired Victoria without discussing it with her. Gloria was upset when Jill decided to take Jeffrey up on his offer to have lunch.

Colleen spoke with Kevin about something important to both of them. Colleen had expressed her feelings when she learned that Adrian's book was about to be published. She was sure that it do a lot of damage to her family as well as Jana. When Adrian came in Colleen told Adrian how she felt. She apologized for telling him to go ahead with it, but she was angry then, and now she sees how much harm could come to a lot of people. Adrian was beside himself because he was a new author, and he would lose all of his credibility as an author if he tried to stop it. After their conversation, Colleen went to see her father and gave him the advance copy to look at. He agreed that it would do a lot of harm to people.

Victor was prepared to let JT go from Newman's when JT told him that he would never do anything to compromise Newman's because of his job. Victor then relented and the conversation ended. Nicholas then came in to make a pitch of his own, by asking his father to reconsider Victoria's leaving the company. Victor refused and Sabrina entered to take Victor's mind off his family as Nicholas walked out the door.

Brad, trying to get on Jill's good side, suggested that the company try to bring back the forgotten men's line of long ago.

Gloria and Jeffrey batted back and forth, trying to get the other to admit that they didn't really want a divorce. Unfortunately, Jill broke up any chance of them finding a solution when she interrupted the two of them. Jana went for a job interview, and got it, working for Sabrina, in Victor's new art gallery. Victor told Adam that he could take over Victoria's office now that she had left.
