Young and the Restless Recap: April 21, 2005

Jack tells Phyllis that he did want Victoria to come back to be CEO. Phyllis and Jack continue to argue with each other over the ethics that they both used in trying to get Victoria to return. Phyllis wanted Victoria to return so that things would go easier for her and Jack wanted her to return for his own personal reasons. He wants to know if Victor was going to hire Victoria back, but she doesn't know. Jack goes to leave and Phyllis tells him that next time she will pay for their makeup dinner. Jack goes to leave and a knock on the door brings Victor to see Phyllis. Jack leaves and Victor asks Phyllis, point blank, to be honest with him, he wants to know if Jack is about to ask Victoria to work for him?

Sharon talks to Victor about Nicholas. Victor asks Sharon if Nicholas dislikes his sister? Only when it comes to business," says Sharon. Victor tells Sharon that he thinks Victoria and Nicholas will always have a contentious relationship. Sharon states that the best thing to do might be to let things ride their own course.

Michael takes Gloria to Gina's. Gloria is pleased that Michael seems to care about her feelings. She tells him that he is a good son. Michael decides to take her somewhere else instead, but as they leave, JT comes in. Michael introduces her to JT as the woman whose life you ruined. JT tells her that it wasn't anything personal. Gloria says that John isn't happy knowing the truth and neither is she, so was it worth it? Michael and Gloria leave Gina's. Gina, who overheard this conversation, walks up to JT and asks if he is all right. He planned to stay at the restaurant but changes his mind and leaves. Later, JT and Mac talk. He tells her that he is in a funny sort of mood, thanks to her friend Kevin. In the meantime, Michael takes Gloria to the lottery office. He cashes in his winning powerball ticket and is told that it doesn't make a difference if the ticket were purchased for him or not, it's just the person that signs the ticket that they care about. JT tells Mac that he ran into Michael and Gloria at the club. JT says that she seems like an all right lady. Mac tells him that he was just doing his job and therefore he shouldn't blame himself for the way things turned out. The lottery agent tells Michael that everything is okay and wants to know how he would like his money. Michael picks one lump sum, but is told that he will only receive half or a little less of the total value, but he still chooses the lump sum. JT wonders if this job is something that he wants to do for the rest of his life. Michael and Gloria arrive home where he says that tonight they will all have a celebration dinner. Mac reminds JT that Ashley hired him because she thought there was something to be looked into, questions to be answered. He agrees and she says that Gloria lied to John and you just don't lie to a person you are married to.

Cassie prepares to leave for school, and comes into the room where her Father is waiting. Nicholas asks if she would do him a favor, and he requests that she take off some of the eye makeup that she is sporting. She agrees to do it for him. Cassie reminds him that she is almost old enough to get her drivers permit, and would he help her with it. Nicholas is surprised when Cassie mentions that she didn't think the dinner went well. He in turn asks her about the new friend that she has, the senior boy who gave her a ride home. Cassie says he is barely a friend. At this point Sharon comes back into the house. The conversation ceases and Sharon feels put out. Nicholas tells her that she is just the Mother of a teenage daughter. Sharon doesn't know how to handle Cassie anymore and Nicholas suggests that they just rub each other the wrong way. He tells her to back off. Maybe she could even teach Cassie how to put makeup on so she doesn't overdo it when she leaves the house.

In the lab, Jill is asked about her new job by Victoria. Jill tells her that she is busy, and so is Ashley, and even though she isn't working for the competitor, she shouldn't be in the lab which is considered off limits. Victoria leaves and Jill tells Ashley to watch out for Victoria and not get too close to her. Jill tells Ashley that better security must be used when it comes to the lab from now on.

Victoria talks with her Father. He doesn't want her to go back angry with Nicholas. She tells her Father that she loves Nicholas but there is no way that the two of them can do business together. Victor asks her not to do anything that seems so threatening to Nicholas and maybe things could go easier for the two of them. Victoria tells Victor that she has chosen to move on in another direction. Victoria has come back because she misses the business world but not at Newman's.
