Young and the Restless Recap: January 24, 2008

Neil and Karen smiled with pride at Lily who was getting ready for her big day. Neil was still keeping a watchful eye on his daughter as she accepted the flowers delivered to her from Cane. It was obvious that she was thrilled while her father was less than thrilled at the attention that she was getting from Cane. Lily faced her father and told him that she and Cane were just friends while Karen did her best to reassure Neil that his daughter was now a young woman and could make her own decisions. She then suggested that Neil try to understand and accept what was happening for his sake and Lily's. Another young man with a new hairdo told "Marina" that she would not be able to carry off her pretense. Amber insisted that she could do it and ended up doing her "Marina" thing while Kevin returned to their place along with Jana, who was moving in. Alone with Daniel and Amber, Kevin told his friends that one would have to go since Jana would be living there now. Daniel told Amber that he would go with her when the announcement was made, but she refused his being there, saying that it might ruin her cover. At the press conference, the names of the semi-finalists were made known to the public. Cane congratulated Lily and then with a quick conversation with his mom, walked over to "Marina" and yanked off the wig that she was wearing!!!

Jack told Sharon that he was on his way to meeting with Gloria and settling up his father's estate. Sharon reminded him that he should remain calm, which he promised to do. Everything was going well until Gloria insisted that as part of the settlement, she wanted the house. It seemed that the house meant more to Jack than anything, and he refused to give it up to her, even with the advice from his lawyer that he would probably lose it in court, Jack wouldn't give in on this. He asked Gloria to rethink what she was being offered for her part but she was busy scurrying out to see her lawyer, wondering how soon she would be able to move into the house. Sharon paid Gloria a visit wanting to speak with her alone.

Later, she ran into Brad who asked Sharon if she would be his "friend." She doubted that she could handle the situation. Brad getting nowhere, decided on a business plan. Brad met with Neil telling him that because Nicholas was no longer a part of the company and Victor was facing jail time, the company could not afford to lose the expertise of someone like him. Neil thought about it and suggested that Brad take over Nicholas' accounts but Brad wanted more. Neil then told him that he would talk with Victor about his becoming a co-CEO at Newman Enterprises. After their meeting, Neil placed a call to Karen and when she arrived he told her that he wanted her to stay over and if she liked, she could bring along some of her things. Having said that, he presented her with a key to his apartment.
