Young and the Restless Recap: January 07, 2008

Ben still thought that a "tell-all" book written by Jack would be a heck of an idea, but Jack just put the suggestion in the background. Sharon came downstairs and announced that she had a meeting with Brad over the promotion tour that was coming up. Jack told her that he would come to pick her up and they could go to dinner, but she insisted that she would join him after her meeting instead. Not sure of what was happening, Jack went to get Sharon but found her behind a locked office door with Brad instead. Good thing, otherwise he might have heard Brad tell Sharon that he still loved her, and thought that she was feeling the same way. Sharon opened the locked door to find Jack standing there, not in a particularly good mood after seeing his wife with Brad. Sharon went on ahead and once again Jack warned Brad to stay away from his wife.

Daniel arrived at Heather's office to hand over a check for her car repairs. She ended up spilling her coffee and he made light of the situation while trying to cheer her up. Then Daniel got up the nerve to ask Heather out to dinner, but when she stopped laughing, the answer was still "no." He was not to look for a "rain-check" either. Daniel then headed for Crimson Lights where he met up with Amber while he went there to seek out a job on the computer. Amber then told him that "Marina" had turned in her application to be a "fresh face" in the new Jabot contest. Daniel told her flat out that she wouldn't win the contest or Cane back by once again resorting to trickery. Angry, she walked out, meeting Heather on the way in. Daniel teased Heather about her refusal to go out with him until he talked her into having a sandwich with him. When she left after a bit of lunch and conversation which was on the friendly side, Amber strolled back in and nagged at Daniel for "mooning over" Heather while putting down her attraction to Cane. Kevin came in and was happy, believing that Jana would soon accept his marriage proposal. Amber thought to herself after the guys left that it might take a little bit of cheating to win the contest, and she immediately thought of using Kevin to help her.

Gloria was listening to Lauren warn her about Jeffrey. Lauren believed that all the feelings Gloria had about Jeffrey in the beginning were right on and she had better be very careful of the man. Gloria, now trying to make her first opinion of Jeffrey, not a fair one, told Lauren that because she was getting to know him better, he really was a charming man. Lauren would find that out when Jeffrey came for dinner that night. While dinner was waiting for Jeffrey's arrival, , Gloria headed to the kitchen for champagne glasses in order to celebrate something special that night. Lauren, while moving Gloria's purse discovered a "load" of jewelry inside. Questioning Gloria, she replies to Lauren that it is all a matter of investment. Michael returned home hoping that the dinner with Jeffrey, a man he had come to dislike, had been cancelled but learned that it wasn't. While Gloria prepared herself for the dinner, Lauren showed Michael the jewelry inside Gloria's purse. Michael then began to scrounge around in Gloria's purse and found a check stub that she had written to Jeffrey in the amount of $50,000. Michael then let out a bellow of a call to his mother to come to him immediately, but she simply explained the check was for some real estate that Jeffrey was buying, and she offered to give him the down-payment. The door-bell rang and Jeffrey was let in bringing the conference to a close. The couples engaged in conversation while both Michael and Lauren made subtle hints to Jeffrey about all the money that Gloria has. Kevin then arrived, and, then the big shock of the evening came as Jeffrey asked for Gloria's hand in marriage.
