Censor's Passions Commentary - Aug 9, 2004

Another tense week in Harmony-- so we're just gonna dig in.. also, due to some copyright infringement worries.. I have now changed the *CHEERS and JEERS* to *RAVES and GRAVES*.. let me know what you think :)

RAVES-- Julian. This week showed how much he truly loves Eve. He was the only one who would stand by her side. Even though I really don't think these two should ultimately end up together. They have been through way too much for their relationship to be ANYTHING but trouble.

GRAVES-- Fox. What in the world have they done to Fox?!? I demand to know!! I need answers. First-- he has the audacity to ask Whitney what she thinks of the fact that they share a half-brother, then in the next breath-- he is thinking about how much he loves her?!? What is that?!? Is that not the oogiest thing you've ever heard? I know that they are NOT blood relatives, but the fact remains that they are WAY too close in that whole universal "six-degrees-of-separation" thang?? Secondly-- Fox offers to help Julian find his half brother? As if!! Fox has absolutely no interest in knowing his brother-- he just wants to clear the path to Crane Industries.

I have no problem with Fox being the "heir", except for the fact that Alistair said that he WOULD NEVER be the heir. On the other hand-- maybe if he gets immersed in Crane Industries.. it would help clear the cobwebs and end this obsession with Whitney. We might be onto something there :)

RAVES-- Eve. I thought the "I have to return to Eve Johnson" routine smacked as a little too heavy-handed, I loved the emotion with which she sang. I know a lot of people don't like the way Tracey sings-- but I personally think that she has a beautiful voice, and I LOVED the fact that TC got to hear her sing. Of course-- TC was a complete jassack when he got to the Blue Note.

Which brings me to the current state of affairs in the Russell Household. What in the world are these people on?!? TC was all good with Eve being a "wh*re" and a drug addict.. but he has some mealy-mouthed objection to the fact that she had a child out of wedlock? As freakin' if! I could make a list of the people who had children out of wedlock on this show-- and TC LOVES all of them. He can say that it is the fact that she had a child out of wedlock all he wants.. the truth remains that he cannot let of his insane hatred for Julian.. and rather than act like a MAN-- he has to act like a lunatic. I can't wait until TC finds out that Eve was driving the car that injured TC-- now THERE is a reason to be upset.. that Eve never owned up to that-- the rest if ridiculous. It is in the past and nothing can change it.

What I personally find interesting is that they just had Eve remember that she was the one driving the car that night a few months ago. Does this mean that she didn't remember until just then, like she blocked it out? Or did she know all along? How freakin' cool would it be if they had TC and Eve's entire relationship be something that Alistair machinated to get under Julian's skin? Of course-- I'm giving the writers too much credit here.
