Guiding Light Recap: December 24, 2004

Zach is opening his Christmas presents. Harley gives him a special gift from his father. Zach is surprised to learn that the gift of a butterfly was from Philip.  Harley tells Buzz that Philip always did his holiday shopping early and Ross found the list among Philip's things.

Buzz tells his family that Christmas is the best time for miracles to happen.

Reva tells Josh that "I miss my kids." Jonathon appears and says "but you still got the grinch!" He's got a Santa hat on and it is flanked by his pet snake.

Cassie, Edmund, and Tammy are delivering Christmas presents.

Olivia sits on her bed at Ravenwood. Bill is on the phone talking to his dad and tells him that he can't celebrate the holidays while Olivia is locked up.

The Spauldings are having their holiday celebration with Emma. Gus is around the family with the cam-corder and is filming everyone.  Alex asks Gus why he isn't with Harley.  Gus says "Harley is where she needs to be and so am I."

Zach wants to play with his butterfly. Harley and Frank try to catch it, and Frank accidentally knocks the star off the tree and it shatters.  Zach says that he needs that star "that's how daddy can see us." Harley promises to get him a new one and she sets out to find a new star for the top of the tree.

Coop comes in and finds a present that was supposed to go to Lizzie.  Buzz says that they found it under the tree. Coop takes the gift and heads for the Spaulding mansion.

Bill asks Ross to help him. Ross reminds Bill that it's Christmas and there is nothing that he can do about Olivia until tomorrow. Harley comes in and wishes Ross a happy anniversary, and she reminds Ross that Olivia and Bill should be having a happy holiday with Emma. Ross says "I will see what I can do."

Alan tells Gus that he was surprised that Gus was  with them on the holiday. Gus tells Alan that it's almost the new year, "are you going to move forward and let all the anger go?"  Gus says that Christmas is about the kids..."and we've got Emma....how did you do that by the way?"  Ross comes in and asks Alan "why don't you tell your family how you have Olivia locked up in Ravenwood."

Reva presents Jonathon with a stocking. Josh tells him that "everyone gets one." Jonathon asks "when do we open the presents?"  Reva tells Jonathon that before they open gifts she wants him to promise that he won't show up at Cassie's wedding.

Cassie gets a call from the hotel--they are looking for the hotel doctor.  Bill cut his hand on the soda can that Harley brought in.  They were cutting the star off the can so that Harley could put it on the tree for Zach. Bill says that he doesn't need a doctor. "don't you have some glue or a stapler or something over there?" He goes to find something that will stop his hand from bleeding. Harley gets the bright idea to steal the start from the tres in the Beacon.  She tries to get it, but ends up pulling the tree over on top of her.

Bill pulls the tree off of Harley. Bill asks her what the heck happened. Cassie comes in and says "Did my tree fall on you? There's a doctor right outside." Harley says that she heard angels singing and the star was so bright. Cassie tells Harley that if she wanted the star all she needed to do was ask.

Cassie tells Harley that she knows where to find a star.  The doctor tells Bill that his hand needs stitches, but he needs a tetanus shot and he tells Bill that he's going to Ravenwood. Bill says that he wants to go with him.
