Censor's Passions Commentary - Aug 16, 2004

WHOO-HOO!  Sorry the column is so late, but I could not bring myself to watch the last show for almost 3 days.  I kept it stored on my TIVO, because I knew that there were no new eppy's coming for two weeks.  So, I finally drug myself to the television, and I LOVED IT!!  Sure, some parts were hokey, others predicable and others downright maddening, but hey-- the show is looking like it's going to kick into high gear after the break.  *crosses fingers*  Let's dig in--

RAVES-- Eve.  I loved her words to TC this week, when TC stormed into the bedroom and went on the whole wh*re kick again.  That drives me crazy.  She NEVER cheated on you, TC.  Not in the sense of continuing her *night games* with Julian-- they shared a few kisses and gropes, but nothing else.. And the fact remains that TC did the same with Liz.. in the shower, at the gym, in the backyard.. AND lied about it.  These two are more alike than TC will ever be able to admit.

GRAVES-- Of course, this one goes to TC.  For the reasons listed above.  His portrayal this week almost had me going.  Fresh off his romp in the sack with Liz, TC is hit with guilt and wants to reconcile with Eve.  Of course, he flies off the handle of his hypocrisy when he finds EVIAN in bed together.  BLAH.  They both did the exact same thing.  Except Eve's is FAR more understandable.  She and Julian LOVED each other, and still hold those feelings, even 25 years later.  TC jumped into the sack with someone he barely knows.. and it was his OWN WIFE'S SISTER.  TACKY!!!!

RAVES-- Father Lonigan RETURNS.  I have missed the wonderful advice he dispenses that nobody seems to EVER heed.  But it was nice to see him back on the screen.  I've definitely missed Bruce.  BUT-- how in the world did Sam know that TC had broken his marriage vows?  What-- is Sam in bed with Alistair, looking at his cameras?  It's not like TC and Liz went out to a romantic dinner at the SeaScape for all to see, and then did the horizontal mambo.  Nobody knew about it, except TC, Liz, Eve and Julian.. and NOT one of them would pick up the phone and call the Bennett house to let Sam know about their lovely little *night games.*  Ahh, another plot hole by the writers.

GRAVES-- Liz, of course.  Telling TC about Eve driving the car that ruined TC's knee was LOW.  It is like watching Gwen all over again.  Tell me if you don't see the parallel.  Liz (Gwen) wants TC (Ethan) to leave Eve (Theresa) for GOOD.  So Liz (Gwen) goes out of her way to get Aunt Irma to expose Eve's (Theresa's) past (the first paternity tabloid) and Liz (Gwen) says that she KNOWS TC (Ethan) will love HER (Liz/Gwen) NOW!!  TC (Ethan) are angry at first, but allow their anger to subside and realize that they TRULY want to be with Eve (Theresa), so Liz (Gwen) pull out one last arsenal.  Liz (Gwen) tells TC (Ethan) that Eve (Theresa) ruined his life in that accident (Gwen tells the tabs that Theresa SENT the paternity info).  Such horrible rewriting.  The only difference being that in the FINAL blow-- Liz was not lying about Eve being the one was driving-- and Gwen WAS lying about T sending the info to the TABS.  BUH-ORING!!  Liz-- go back to St. Lisa's.  You have served your purpose.. it is now time to leave Harmony forever.
