Censor's Passions Commentary - May 16, 2005

Hey guys, Censor's back. Well, I don't know about "back." But I'm gonna at least try to churn a column out this week. Hope it isn't too terrible, but I gotta get back on this horse somehow.

RAVES-- Sheridan. She's finally putting the pieces together, too bad she sounds totally loony. Seriously-- she sounds like a candidate for electro-shock therapy more NOW than she ever did before. She needs to get some concrete proof, then take her case to Luis. That said-- she needs to leave Luis. PRONTO. Sorry, this critic is against SHUIS officially now. Sheridan deserves someone better. Period.

GRAVES-- Luis. Just because he's really starting to tick me off. I'm sick of him. He is such window-dressing. I'm glad that Galen resigned his contract, but I'm also glad to see that he'll be off-screen for a while. Seeing as Galen waited so long til the end of his contract to re-sign, guess what? They had to write Luis off for a while. Thank GAWD. I'm sick of him. He's getting voted off my island.

GRAVES-- Jessica. AND HER REWRITE!! How frickin' stupid does JER think we are? All of a sudden, Jessica turned to drugs and whoring herself out AFTER Sam took up with Ivy? Give me a friggin' break. Ivy has been living in that house for at least a year. And when Ivy moved in-- Jessica was all over that. Jessica and Ivy like, semi-bonded. We all remember Jessica giving her Mark! spiel to Ivy, and Ivy was Jessica's biggest supporter in her new "business endeavor." Now, because JER suddenly got some stick up his ear and decided to give Jessica a storyline, he's gotta muck it all up? Gimme a break.

GRAVES-- Ivy. Who the heck does Poison Ivy think she is? I don't care if she really believes that Theresa send the tabloid information. She knows darn well that the whole scenario that "ruined Ethan's life" was her own doing. Ivy needs a dose of her own medicine.

RAVES-- The tabloid scandal. It was mentioned numerous times this week, and discussed in extraordinary detail. This gives me pause and hope for the future. PLEASE let the writers expose this once and for all. And I can't wait until Ethan realizes that both of the women he is in love with have "monster-like" tendencies. Of course-- the catch 22 there is that Ethan will never admit to himself that HE is the reason that either of them showed their "monster" side. Ethan's a chump-- and we all know that JER isn't gonna play this story the right way. Ethan has been harping about how "honest" and "true" and "honorable" Gwen has been for years, and how that was "why he finally chose to be with her", because "he couldn't live with Theresa's lies." Of course, once Ethan finds out that Gwen gave as good as she got-- he'll forget all about his "honesty credo" and forgive her anyway. Because that will be the "only bad thing she ever did."

GRAVES-- Gwen. I'm sorry-- this isn't just because I'm not a total Gwen head, but Gwen needs to wake up. When Sam first arrested her, she was very realistic about it. "I always knew that this could come back to haunt me." Now, as soon as she spends a minute with Rebecca, it is all "This is so unfair. Why won't Theresa drop the charges?" Gimme a friggin' break, Gwen. You tried to kill her. In the hospital, on the island. She has every right to press charges. Why should Theresa trust you? I know a lot of people are sayin' Theresa is stupid for not agreeing to the truce, but honestly-- why should she? The last time Theresa agreed with you-- it was when the two of you decided to date Ethan. Then you manipulated her AND Ethan during that. And when Ethan chose Theresa over you-- you LIED and wished them well, then not only ruined Ethan's life-- but you ruined Theresa's as well. Why should she trust you? The only thing Theresa ever wanted, the only thing Theresa had going for her was Ethan's love. And you took it from her, and you know it. Theresa is smart as heck for not trusting you. And I'd like to point out for the record-- that Gwen was NOT insane when she stabbed Theresa. Or in some drug-induced crizzap that Ethan is going to try to spiel at the trial. Case proved, you ask?! When Ethan was threatening to take Jane.. Gwen pointed out that "her name was Ashley." Gwen knew exactly what she was doing, and she believes that while Theresa is Jane's mother.. that Jane is "due her as payment rendered for all of Theresa's machinations." Gwen is and was always in control of her emotions. She's been trying to kill Theresa for years.
