GRAVES-- Chad. While I completely believe with every fiber of my being that Chad should know that he has fathered a baby boy.. it's still kinda creepy the stance he's taking. He has taken on insane "stalker-like" tendencies. Demanding to see Whitney, offering to take Fox's place. It's so crazy. It's very very sad to see JER waste this storyline like this. If he was gonna go over the edge and delve into incest-- why isn't he going all out? Why doesn't he have Chad find out and just have everything BLOW ALL TO HIZELL! That said, I'd like to point out another missed opportunity that JER should have taken. When Chad was talking about his connection to the baby-- rather than Ethan saying that it was because it reminded Chad of what Chad would never have with Whitney-- why didn't we have Ethan say, "I felt the same way when little Ethan was born?" Ethan had a huge connection to LE when he came into the world, and it would be interesting to see Chad find out that the baby is his.. and then Ethan start exploring the same connection that he felt to LE. Just sayin'.
GRAVES-- Sheridan. What the hizell? Okay, I get that she wanted to get a jacket for Marty-- but who the HECK closes a door where she can't see a child? I get not bringing him back into the house.. because as a mother-- lugging the stroller around, getting them settled into it, etc. is SUCH a pain in the bootie. I love my son.. but I don't miss the stroller days, FOR SURE!! But no mother this side of the clouds above would ever leave their child where they couldn't see them. She should have left the door open, and then run inside. Luis was sitting on the couch-- he could have kept an eye out or something.
GRAVES-- Luis. His great detective work deduces that because there was a cigar butt on the property, that Alistair MUST have done this. Hello-- Alistair is on Crane grounds constantly.. I'm not saying that Alistair shouldn't have been a suspect-- but hello? Alistair is constantly puffing away.. and he sure doesn't seem to care if they have "cigar receptacles."
GRAVES-- The adoption people. Okay, lemme get this straight-- they march in with the papers and are all, "Okay, these are in order," and as soon as Whitney presents them with Fox's POA.. their tone completely changes. ONLY then do they ask, "Why do you want to give your baby up?" HELLO? These would have all been covered in an extensive pre-interview. Ohh, and how is Whitney going to explain Fox's medical records that they've requested? Is she going to send them Chad's and bribe her mother to change the name? Or is she going to send Fox's and just *pray* that they don't find out? Doing what's right for her son, my aunt fanny. If she wants to give the baby up for adoption-- fine. Whitney's too selfish to be a mother anyway. But she could at least tell the TRUTH.
Best part of the week-- Hmm. This one is tough. While the week was a good week, pace-wise. I can't really narrow one down.
Worst part of the week-- The scene with Fox and the lasers. Very "Stefano and the Dimera's" if you ask me. If JER is going to go to all the trouble to be the head of two soaps.. he could at least attempt to use different ideas.
And now-- for my RANT OF THE WEEK. And this week, it goes to JER. I know-- shock of shocks, right. My issue with JER this week is something that's been eating at me for a while. I don't like the dialogue that JER writes while people are holding babies. He's got Alistair talking to Marty about offing "his mommy and daddy." He's got Gwen singing "bloody lullabies" to Jane. He's got Beth foaming at the mouth about Sheridan with Marty-- and I just think it's really inappropriate. These babies are REAL babies. They're not carrying dolls. And I'm sorry-- I know people say that babies don't really understand what we're saying, but I just don't buy it. Babies are *far* more intelligent than anyone gives them credit for. Babies are very aware of their surroundings. They can *sense* when their parents are arguing, when their parents are sad.. they are affected by it. And to see innocent children be around people, even when it is acting-- these vile words should not be said around babies, and I'm getting real sick of hearing it. *UGH*
Til next week,
