Censor's Passions Commentary - February 21, 2005From Censor Hey guys, sorry I'm late!! Life just got crazy this weekend, (my best friend is getting married in a few months, and it's "down-to-the-wire" time). The show was moderately decent this week, so let's just dive right in!
GRAVES-- Alistair. Okay, Alistair's a disgusting human being-- we've all known this for years. BUT-- for him to watch his wife making love to another man?? That's just nasty. Although we know he used to watch SHUIS and CHADNEY do the horizontal mambo as well. So I guess we shouldn't be that surprised. But this is just GROSS to watch. RAVES-- Katherine. (two weeks in a row, I know!!) Don't get me wrong, Katherine is still a DOLT and should be shot immediately. BUT-- her moment with Sheridan and Luis where she read Luis for trash was EXCELLENT. She knew exactly what was happening with SHUIS as Sheridan desperately tried to defend her mother (god only knows why!!) and Katherine did what she had to do to make sure that SHUIS didn't have a fall-out over this. It was great to see, and for a brief and shining moment, I actually believed that Katherine loved her kids. GRAVES-- Ethan. What a frickin' moron!! He realizes that Rebecca is lying to him, and "has an idea where they might be." Now, I can understand why he wouldn't tell Theresa, because he wouldn't want to get her hopes up if the hunch didn't pan out. BUT-- he most certainly should have told Sam once he left the house. If Ethan wanted to rush to the Crane cabin before Gwen/Rebecca and the baby could get away, I'd understand, but it takes a mere few seconds to pass on your hunch to the police. And technically-- with Ethan realizing that Gwen and the baby must have been there (as evidenced by his car being hid behind the boathouse), Ethan could be charged with obstruction of justice by failing to report this immediately to the police. Add another law-breaker to the numerous people who reside in this fair town! RAVES-- Rebecca. I can't believe I just wrote that. Rebecca is FINALLY proving her devotion to her daughter. Well, a little bit. Rebecca's love for Gwen has always been superseded by other things: sex, money, poolboys, whatever. Rebecca is completely in the wrong, don't confuse me, BUT-- she is protecting her daughter from the fate that has been laid for her daughter. That said, Censor has to wonder-- all this devotion-- is it TRULY to help Gwen? Or is it, ONCE AGAIN-- done in the name of the MAIN MOTIVATOR for this witch-- which would be-- TO HURT THERESA. GRAVES-- Martin. You guttersnipe, pathetic piece of trash. How dare you extol your undying devotion of your mistress to the woman who is still your wife??! This is insane. Martin tells Pilar that he still loves her, but he can't leave Katherine because of all they've been through? Is he joking? What about what your devoted wife went through?? 5 frickin kids (can you even imagine how many hours of Pilar's life have been spent in LABOR??), the life that you had built together, her proven devotion after you deserted your family? And you have the gall to even remotely try to "get Pilar to understand why you'd never leave Katherine?" You're nasty, Martin. NASTY. GRAVES-- Whitney. Homegirl is killing her baby. FLAT OUT, plain and simple. She is purposely planning to kill her own child by refusing to eat and take her prenatal vitamins. This is disgusting to watch and JER should be ashamed. I am so *sick* of hearing that JER is trying to "break new ground." This is gross to watch. Brook is a mother herself, how much do you think this is breaking her heart to have to utter the words, "I hope you die (to her baby) so you don't have to live through the horror of knowing your parents were related?" This is sad to watch, and rather than breaking the hollow "new ground" that JER claims to want to do-- the only thing he is achieving is viewers tuning out. STOP KILLING MY SHOW, JER! RAVES-- Edna Wallace. For pointing out the dramatic irony that Beth would take her "oh-so-loved" child Marty to the "serial killer doctor." This was great! |
