Censor's Passions Commentary - January 09, 2005

Hey guys-- I'm here and raring to go!!  How good was the show this week?  I got all kinds of opinions to spew-- so I'm gonna keep the intro short and sweet, and just get right to it!

GRAVES-- TC.  Oh my lord!  Who does this buffoon think she is?  Okay, I get it, TC-- Eve broke your heart.  You deserved it, and it was about friggin' time that someone knocked your block off.  Okay, so Eve lied about her past.. I don't get how you go from LIAR to MURDERER???  Are they kidding with this diatribe?  TC proposes to Eve's sister, and all of a sudden, Eve is capable of murder?  This plotline is just ridiculous.

GRAVES-- Whitney.  Just freakin' shut up.  I was almost about to *RAVE* Whitney for this week for her words to Theresa, until she started railing on Eve.  Homegirl, you best shut your trap before mommy dearest spills your secret.  Oh yeah, that's right-- you're the stupidest chick on record and told Theresa about your BIG OLD SCAM while she was in her coma, therefore-- due to soap opera requirements, Theresa is gonna remember that conversation down the road, thereby leaving the door open for Theresa to BUST the Whitney lie all out in the open.  That said, Whitney needs to show a little gratitude.  Stop blaming stuff on your mother.  Yeah, she didn't know that Chad was your brother, but bottom line-- nobody forced you to bump uglies with Chad for over 2 years.  NOBODY.  You did that yourself, and you need to deal with the repercussions of your actions yourself.

RAVES-- Harmony Police Department.  Their work this week was impressive.  I mean, jeez-- in one week, they discovered that Liz was poisoned, that the poison came from the closet, and that the closet was only opened by Eve's key card.  WOW-- they still haven't been able to narrow the suspects for Julian's attempted murder and that was 3 years ago.  GOOD GAWD-- I don't know whether to be impressed or disgusted.

RAVES-- Eve.  With everyone against her this week, she really stood on her own.  What I don't understand is how everyone is accusing Eve of this act.  Yeah, she hated Liz, and everyone heard you threaten your sister-- in church no less.  But what is SO unbelievable is how they just completely dismissed the tracheotomy on Liz.  TC's logic was complete BUPKIS.  IF Eve poisoned Liz.. and she was already choking-- why would she perform the trach??  Because she was afraid she'd get caught?  PUH-LEEZE.  That's just ridiculous.  If Eve were the cold and calculating murderess that everyone is taking her for this week-- she would have let Liz gag and choke to death on the basement floor of the church and hightailed it out of there.  It's not like Eve doesn't know how to get away with a crime, heck-- she burned down what's his face's house when he had that STUPID BIRD in his living room that was going to "expose her past."  This is ridiculous-- and a poor plot point by the writers.  They could have written this so much better.

GRAVES-- Rebecca.  This woman knows no bounds.  She participates in heinous schemes against an entire family because of one person's actions, she went along with Julian trying to kill Sheridan back in the day, and NOW she is gonna let Eve take the fall for her own attempted murder.  I'm not surprised, but still.  And her scenes with Gwen were complete CRIZZAP.  I didn't buy it for a second.  I *almost* did, when she got the call and immediately ran to the jail-- but why didn't Rebecca play the Crane card like Fox did and NOT leave Gwen alone in the jail?  Bex is a bad mom, reading Ethan for trash about leaving Gwen.. especially when Gwen can hear what she is saying.  It's such bull.  The only good moment was when Rebecca asked God if Gwen was being punished for Bex's actions.  Well, you know what they say about karma-- and it's about time Bex and Gwen started getting theirs.
