GRAVES-- SHUIS wedding. I'm sorry. But Jessica and Kay as bridesmaids. WHY? WHY? This makes no sense. The last time Sheridan saw Kay was at Thanksgiving at Tabitha's. And Ethan as Luis's best man? Whaaa???? Are they joking? Do the writers just think we're dumb? Luis is related to Theresa, who is in the process of ruining Ethan's wife's life (from the perspective of Ethan and Gwen)-- why in the world would Ethan agree to stand next to Luis. And the connection to Sheridan is no excuse. BULLCRIZZAP.
GRAVES-- Harmony hospital. Where is the friggin security at this place!! Both Beth and Rebecca steal drugs from the medicine closet? WHATEVER. Of course-- this is also the hospital that leaves an operating table open in the hall for people to steal scalpels off of, too.
RAVES-- Gwen. Well, more to Liza than anything. Her scenes as the full-on, in-a-trance, psychotic murderess were nothing short of outstanding. So many times when you see someone go into a psychotic rage on a television show-- it's this screaming rage (like we've seen from Gwen so many times before).. but this literal break with reality was a fresh change. Liza excelled at this, and it was great to watch. Her scene as she "realizes that Theresa has to die" was nothing short of spooky. That said, I gotta point out the REAL reason Gwen stabbed Theresa. Because she's afraid of losing Ethan-- which was the same reason Theresa stabbed Gwen. Only Theresa had a clear medical condition AND she stabbed Ethan, too. Gwen just lost her marbles. But it was excellent to watch! GO LIZA!
GRAVES-- Ethan. What a simp. That's enough, and all I have to say. He's so twisted, he can't figure whose side he's on. He's holding Theresa, he's holding Gwen-- it's just insane. Why couldn't Gwen have stabbed Ethan?
GRAVES-- Theresa. (hear me out-- there's more coming) Her actions towards Ethan this week were just pathetic. She drug him into the NICU to see "their daughter".. it was just sad. And her words of "I've finally given you your first child, your first daughter" were beyond tacky. I'm sorry, guys-- I love Theresa and she is my favorite-- but this was just a poor spot by the writers. Yeah, Gwen mocked Theresa when Theresa was on her hands and knees begging for Little Ethan. But this was an opportunity for Theresa to take the high road. Which we all know she is capable of. She's never once even TRIED to press charges against Gwen's NUMEROUS assaults.
RAVES-- Theresa. (see-- I told you!!) When Ivy asked Theresa why she couldn't feel any sympathy for Gwen-- Theresa's line was unbelievable!! Cold and cruel, just like Gwen. She delivered those lines crisply and without emotion. Both Gwen and Theresa have caused each other so much pain, it's not surprising that they would become numb to each others machinations. Theresa is dead on in her lack of sympathy-- just as Gwen is.
Best part of the week-- Gwen going PSYCHO on us all and stabbing Theresa so coldheartedly, it almost didn't even seem like it was happening. It felt like a dream, and that can only be attributed to the people playing the scene.
Worst part of the week-- KaMart hiding in the sacristy. BLAH.
No RANT OF THE WEEK this week-- I'm saving it for next week's column when I rail on the outcome of all the events of this past week.
Til next week,
