Brooke started to become suspicious when Storm wouldn't let Brooke put an end to the evening. He told her that he wanted to explain why he felt like he did about their father and what happened to him. Here was a young boy being put in charge of his sisters, wanting the love of his father, who was not around. Storm explained how so many times he had hoped that Stephen would return and how many times he looked for him, but to no avail. Storm ended up revealing that he kept his class ring and always wore it around his neck on a chain. Brooke suggested that since he and their father were getting along better, perhaps he should start wearing it again, where it could be seen. Storm managed to tell her that it was too late.
Taylor taking a quick peek at her baby, suddenly began to cry when Nick asked her what was the matter. She told him that the thought of Brooke always keeps reminding her of what happened. Baby Jack even had blonde hair, while Nick had to remind her that he did also. Nick took baby Jack and put him back in the comfort of his mothers arms, and reminded Taylor that the baby is part of them. He would become what hopefully would be the best parts of his family. He told her that it was their job to make sure that he was safe and comforted while growing up. Taylor seemed to relax, and soon, baby Jack was at his mother's breast nursing, with Taylor enthralled with the moment. At the jail, Donna arrived with Storm's birthday cake in hand. Stephen admitted that he had forgotten it was his son's birthday. Suddenly Stephen regressed back to the past and all the times that he wasn't there for his family especially his son, when he could have been. Donna told him that the past was over with, and when he got out they could all reunite as a family and move forward. Donna told her father that Storm was sure to determine who it was that shot Stephanie.
