Bold and the Beautiful Recap: August 23, 2005

Bridget tries to chase Nick down as he walks away from her. Dante catches her and tells her not to go and stops her. He brings her home and as they talk, she tells him that she made a terrible mistake. She tells him how Nick reacted when she told him about the baby, that it almost destroyed him and it was her fault. Dante tells her that she had to know if Nick really loved her and that it was necessary to prove it.

Katherine enters Brooke's home with the children. Brooke tells her that she would like her to bundle up some of RJ's outgrown clothing, and Katherine assumes that it is because of a donation she is giving away, but Brooke tells her, as a "family member" that Bridget and Nick are going to have a baby.

Nick stumbles back to his boat, only to fall apart from the news Bridget has just given him. He starts to destroy everything around him. He is obviously suffering from the pain brought on by Bridget's news. He receives a call from Brooke who wants to know if he was able to straighten things out with Bridget. He tells her that he can't talk right now, and has to get out of there. She hears the urgency in his voice and tells him to come over to her house.

Bridget places a call to Katherine, asking her to come over. Dante asks if she can be trusted, and Bridget tells him that Katherine can be trusted more than she can right now.

Nick goes over to Brooke's but remains outside sitting on the porch. Brooke goes out to him. They talk and she tells him that it is not about them anymore, but about the baby. Nick tells her that Bridget aborted the baby. She aborted his child. Brooke brings Nick into the house. She asks if Bridget aborted the child because of what they told her. Brooke tells Nick, that it was her fault that caused Bridget to do this.

Bridget tells Dante, that her Mother will blame herself for this and she knows that she lied to the man she loves. She feels terrible having done what she did. Dante tells her that she needed to know if she was going to be loved by Nick for herself, and not have that love shared with anyone else.

Katherine arrives at where Bridget is with Dante. Bridget tells Katherine that she has to know how Nick feels about her. Bridget asks Katherine if she would "spy" on Brooke and Nick and see what happens now. She tells Katherine that if Nick and Brooke think they are free, they might just act on their feelings for each other and she has to know. Katherine tells Bridget that she doesn't think her Mother would do anything to hurt her, after her encounter with Deacon before. Bridget tells her that they said they care for each other, they admitted that, but they were not going to act on it because of the baby, now they think that the baby doesn't exist. Katherine, reluctantly agrees.

Brooke and Nick talk about Bridget having done this because of her. Their actions caused Bridget to go off the deep end. Brooke tells Nick that she did this to her daughter again. Nick holds her as she cries and Katherine happens to walk in the door and sees them. She can't believe what is before her eyes.
