Bridget continued her conversation with her father. Although he didn't approve, he understood that his daughter still had a deep connection to Nick and warned her to be cautious.
Brooke confronted both Taylor and Nick with her questions about their feelings for one another. She spoke privately with Nick later and told him that she and Bridget both still care about him and that Taylor was now engaged to marry Thorne. Nick told Brooke that he thought that Taylor was making a mistake. After Brooke left, Taylor talked to Nick about her problems with Alexandria. Nick told her that she was just doing her best to put the family together, that was torn apart when Darla died. Taylor then suggested that Nick find someone else as a therapist, since they also had a friendship, and she didn't feel that it was right to counsel him any longer. Nick refused to do so. Thorne then reached Taylor on her phone and told her that Alexandria was better and understood what happened more, so they would not have to cancel or postpone their wedding. When she hung up, she asked Nick to leave but he insisted on first telling Taylor that she couldn't marry Thorne.
Phoebe and Shane told Ridge that Shane didn't leave town, that he has been staying at Bridget's place. Shane tried to talk to Ridge, man to man but Ridge was having no part of it. Shane continued to say that Bridget was the best thing that ever happened to him and he wanted to be someone better now, because of her. Shane told Ridge that someday he would prove to him and the family that he is a better person than they think he is. Ridge listened to him with his usual "ho-hum" attitude.
At home, Brooke told Ridge what happened with Taylor and Alexandria. He insisted that there was nothing to worry about and that the three of them, Taylor, Thorne and Alexandria would be able to get through their problems together. Brooke then surprised Ridge by telling him that Nick presented her with the signed divorce papers. Ridge now believed that they could get on with their lives. Brooke was worried about how Bridget would feel if she learned that Nick and Taylor were becoming attracted more and more to each other.
