As the World Turns Weekly Recap: Week ending February 16, 2007

It was a week of confessions, guilty conscious, lies, and “murder” in Oakdale.

Jade tries to get Will to believe her that Adam set him up. After hearing Adam is going to leave town, Will goes to the Hughes to find him. Jade of course follows him and the two agree to search for Adam together. Maddie doesn’t believe Casey set Will up, she pressures him to tell her who he is protecting. After an intense moment with his parents Casey admits to Maddie that Adam set up Will, and that he didn’t know until after the fact. In the woods behind the Hughes, Gwen and Adam have a heated discussion where Adam admits he had the bond planted. Adam says he did it for Casey but Gwen sees through him claiming he did it for her. Adam does his whole Will was never on board with her career argument. An angry, upset Gwen defends her marriage. Gwen attempts to leave but Adam grabs her and tries to kiss her. Gwen pushes him away screaming no. Adam won’t stop, he keeps groping her. Suddenly Adam is hit over the head with a large branch by Maddie.

Gwen shouts that Adam is not breathing. Maddie gets hysterical insisting she didn’t meant to kill him and everyone will think she did it on purpose. She loses it when she thinks that Margo will hate her, Margo is the only one who helps her deal with what Louis did. Gwen decides to take control. Realizing they can’t call Margo, she has Maddie wipe the blood and her fingerprints off the piece of branch. Gwen gets a blanket, and the two girls roll Adam into the blanket. They must bury Adam in the dirt.

In the car Jade keeps insisting they go to the police. Will makes a comment to Jade that she should get out because when he finds Adam maybe there shouldn’t be any witnesses. Will somehow realizes that if Adam was desperate to get out of town he would have gone through the woods behind the Hughes, in order to get to the main road to hitch a ride. Will heads to the woods with Jade in tow. As Gwen and Maddie are burying Adam, they hear Will calling Adams name. They hide as Maddie begs Gwen to keep quiet. The girls hear Jade and Will decide it is time to tell Margo everything. Gwen in shock and Maddie having a melt down discuss how they are in this together, no one can ever know what happened. The girls leave the woods separately.

Margo grows worried when she can’t find Adam. Will and Jade tell Kim and Margo that Adam set him up. They also inform the women that Adam was trying to leave town. Margo doesn’t want to believe Will, so she decides to talk to Casey. Suddenly Margo realizes that Casey never admitted to setting up Will, he admitted to everything else but not that. Casey finally tells his mom he didn’t set up Will. He tells Margo to talk to Adam After the evenings events Will and Jade have a friendship moment before saying good night. Gwen breaks down in the shower at her house. Maddie throws her clothes in the trash and is on her way to take it out when Dallas shows up. (Casey asked Dallas to check on Maddie). Maddie gets nervous when Dallas asks for Adam, she covers though using the excuse that Tom is asleep and needs his rest. Dallas places the trash in the garbage can. Will finds a shaken Gwen in the shower, the two apologize to each other and make up. Gwen has nightmares about Adam. The next morning both Gwen and Maddie are emotional and tense. Maddie tries to play it normal with Margo who relays to her that Adam is missing and he set up Will.

Casey makes bail. A family discussion decides Casey needs to enter a gambling program and move home. Maddie asks Casey not to let anyone know that he told her about Adam before he told anyone else. She claims it is because she doesn’t want his parents feelings to be hurt. Casey goes to Will and Gwen’s to apologize to them.
