As the World Turns Weekly Recap: Week ending January 19, 2007

It was an intense week for the residents of Oakdale. Tom had a heart attack and needs surgery which has a lasting effect on the entire Hughes clan. Margo blames herself for Tom’s heart attack, noting how stressed he has been to Bob and Lisa. Margo shares a tender moment with her husband before surgery. Katie hears about Tom from Dallas while at the police station bailing out Henry, the two friends make up, and head to the hospital together. Katie is moved when she notices how Tom and Margo are always there for each other. Mike who was working at the hospital when he heard about Tom offers lend Katie a shoulder to lean on. Mike then offers to Margo to lend a hand with the search, Katie volunteers to help too after Margo says she wants to be alone.

A clueless Casey goes to his parent house to confess all about his gambling, he even leaves a cryptic message on hi parents phone about needing to speak with them right away. Maddie comes in and breaks the news to Casey about Tom, apparently she overheard some nurses at Java talking about it. A distraught Casey wonder if his father found out about his gambling. Casey finds his mother at the hospital, Margo puts on a good front to reassure Casey everything will be fine. Margo informs Casey that Daniel is missing. Adam arrives just in time to hear Tom made it through the surgery and he is going to be fine. There is a tender moment between mother and sons. Tom wakes up asking about Daniel. Tom and Margo share an emotional moment when he wakes up. After Casey and Adam see Tom, Margo asks Casey what he needed to talk to them about. He lies that is was because he wanted to change his major because he is failing a class. Casey expresses his concern to Maddie that he will cause his dad stress during his recovery.

Craig even takes time out of this busy life to lend Margo his support at the hospital. Margo vows to him she will find the person who kidnapped Daniel, that person will pay for what happened to both Daniel and Tom. Craig insists he had nothing to do with it, Margo doesn’t look convinced. A recovering Tom tries to leave the hospital to look for Daniel, Margo stops him. Tom blames himself for a missing Daniel. When Margo is evasive with her answers about Daniel Tom threatens to check himself out of the hospital. Margo fills him on what she knows, then goes to call the station for an update, she returns to find Tom is unconscious on the floor of his hospital room. Meg gives him medicine to slow down his heart rate. Meg is affected by Margo’s love for Tom and has a flashback of her taking care of an ailing Paul.

Will and Gwen make an appearance at the hospital to check on Tom. Will watches as Gwen hugs Adam. Adam puts on a good face that everything is fine, Gwen asks Will to talk to his brother. The boys apologize to each other as a happy Gwen looks on. Will later admits to Gwen that he has not always been fair in his treatment of Adam. When Jade shows up to support Adam, Gwen asks to her look after him.

Back at the Hughes Adam and Jade get in fight when Jade tries to get him to open up to her but all he wants to do is have sex, Jade leaves. Iris finds Gwen at Java, she tries talking to her until Will interrupts the conversation. Gwen tells her mother yet again to leave her alone, the couple leaves. Adam and Gwen run into each other at the hospital again, Adam decides they should work, and they head to Java. Adam talks of their next LA trip, Gordon Richards may want to sign her. When Will finds out the meeting is on a day he can’t go he calls Gordon Richards and has the meeting rescheduled in Chicago, on a day he can go. Adam is clearly miffed with his brother but covers well for Gwen’s sake. Iris later finds Adam alone, she lets him know she is all for him getting together with Gwen, and she can help him.

Knowing there is nothing she can do to help Tom, Emily throws herself into finding Daniel. Starting with confronting Craig, who denies it, but does imply she is now Tull’s problem. Emily then believes that Craig had Tull kidnap Daniel. Dusty returns to Oakdale and has the usual fight with Craig over Lucy and Johnny. Once he hears about Daniel Dusty offers to help Emily. The duo set up a meeting with Tull, where Emily signs over her shares of the paper. Tull in a round about way gives them a location where Daniel might be, but when Dusty and Emily arrive there is no Daniel. Dusty finds Tull and brings him to the warehouse, even though Dusty throws him around, Tull doesn’t talk. An angry Dusty rips up the papers Emily signed. At Java Emily blasts Dusty for ripping up the papers, as she gets a call from Daniel who claims he is at Susan’s. Emily arrives to find the house dark as she sees Daniel Tull grabs her from behind with a knife. Emily agrees to give Tull her shares of the paper as long as he doesn’t hurt Daniel. She is signing Dusty shows up and attacks Tull from behind. Emily is knocked out in the process, she wakes up just in time to see Dusty stab Tull. Later Emily spills all about Craig and Tull to Dallas.
