Passions 12/09/99
In the Bennett kitchen Sam and Grace are getting decorations ready for the holidays. Grace tells Sam that she feels close to angels. He asks her about the angel girl…has she seen her again? Grace tells him that she’s not seen her since the night her sister burnt to death. But she’s been on the lookout for evil as she was warned…of course she doesn’t believe there is any evil in Harmony.
Hank joins Grace and Sam in the kitchen. They start talking about Hank’s love life. He informs them that he’s dating Sheridan Crane. Sam stands up and tells him he’s not to get involved with a Crane. They argue. Sam reveals that he dislikes the Cranes because they robbed their family blind years ago.
Grace tries to give Hank some leeway and get Sam to see his side. Sam refuses but they do agree to disagree and get back to work.
At the church Father Lonigan prays because he feels evil coming to Harmony.
Tabby is settling down for a nap on her couch. Timmy tries to keep her awake so he can give her a surprise. She promptly starts snoring. Timmy sets up a baby Christmas Tree and starts singing O’ Christmas Tree and other Christmas carols. Tabitha freaks out when he starts singing Silent Night, and Timmy asks her if she’s going “postal.” Tabitha explains that it’s sacrilege to celebrate Christmas.
Halloween is their holiday, not Christmas. Timmy is upset because he didn’t get any presents then either. Tabitha settles back down and hopes to see the red glowing under the basement door again. That would signal she’ll get her powers back.
The red is back…it flows from Tabitha’s house over to the Bennett house. Grace has a sudden thought of the evil she’s to be watching for.
Outside the Crane mansion Ethan stops Gwen. He tells her he loves her and Theresa means nothing to him. Gwen refuses to believe that. Ethan thinks that Gwen is using Theresa as a scapegoat because he hasn’t proposed to her again. She’s incredulous that he’d think that. She explains about how she fell in love with him. To counter her fears he gets down on one knee and asks Gwen to marry him again.
Up in Ethan’s room someone clears their throat. Theresa doesn’t turn around but she tells Whitney that someone is there. She thinks it’s Ivy. Now she’ll never be a Crane. She turns around and realizes that it’s Pilar. She’s relieved. She tells Whitney she has to go, but she’ll see her at St. Margaret Mary’s later that night. Pilar stalks into the room and demands that Theresa tell her why she’s determined to hurt so many people.
Theresa explains that Gwen thinks Ethan is falling in love with her and that’s why she’s so upset. She tells Pilar that she doesn’t blame her. From the doorway Ivy says “Excuse me?” She wants to know if Theresa thinks Ethan has fallen in love with her. Theresa explains that Gwen just jumped to the wrong conclusion. She explains what had happened earlier. Ivy buys the story of innocence and loses her suspicion of Theresa.
Ivy looks out Ethan’s window and sees Ethan on bended knee proposing. She calls Pilar and Theresa over to the window to watch. Theresa looks crushed. Ivy lifts the window so they can hear.
Gwen tells him no, that she can’t marry him with that proposal. He wants to know what more she wants from him. She tells him that she wants him to propose from the bottom of his heart. Not because she’s insecure.
Theresa looks thrilled. Ethan asks Gwen if this means they’re finished. That it’s over for them? She shakes her head and walks away.
Later inside Ethan and Ivy have a heart to heart in Ethan’s room. Ivy understands and sides with Ethan. They both hope Gwen doesn’t make a decision that will change the rest of their lives. Ivy asks Ethan if he’ll run an errand for her and take a check to the church. He agrees because church is the one place he won’t get into trouble.
Julian shows up in Santa Fe. He hires someone to find Fitzgerald for him. Later he calls Ivy and asks her if she’s heard from Sheridan. He wants her to find out where she is if she hears from her. But not to tell her that he is in Santa Fe.
In the Cabin Sheridan wakes up and realizes that her fever is gone and that she’s naked. She rolls over to find Luis sleeping next to her. She wants to know what Luis did to her when she was unconscious…she doesn’t believe he was just trying to keep her warm. He tells her that she kissed him while she was delusional. He also tells her about Martin. Sheridan demands to know why Luis didn’t handcuff him and keep him at the cabin. She realizes that he chose to help her instead of going after his father.
They return to the hotel and run smack into Julian in the lobby.
Pilar and Theresa make it to St. Margaret Mary’s to decorate for Christmas. Thersa runs off to tell Whitney what happened at the mansion. Pilar goes to the Father and he tells her that evil is coming to Harmony that will effect them all.
Theresa is decorating the tree and having a daydream of marrying Ethan at that church. The daydream is truly romantic. Ethan tells her he loves her with all his heart and soul. He picks her up and carries her back down the isle. Just then Theresa snaps out of it and loses her grip on the ladder she’s on. She falls and hits her head on the ladder. Ethan happens to be behind her and catches her as she passes out and falls.
