Passions 12/07/99
Theresa enters the Lopez-Fitzgerald living room and tells Ethan that she thinks he needs her now. Ethan assumes Theresa is offering to try to convince Gwen that she’s wrong. Theresa agrees. They discuss the situation for awhile and Ethan leaves. After Ethan is gone, Theresa tells Whitney she’s going to follow him to the Crane mansion. She has one last chance to get Gwen out of his life for good.
Alistair is furious that Sheridan is getting closer to Martin’s whereabouts. He warns Julian that he must protect the Crane name at all costs. He tells Julian that he should “sacrifice anyone, even family to protect their secret. No one can no what happened that night many years ago. Especially your sister Sheridan.” Julian assures Alistair that he’ll keep their secret safe.
Ivy enters the room and goads Julian about his fear of Alistair. However she does agree to keep everything under wraps to protect Ethan.
Ethan enters the house and tries to head directly upstairs. Ivy stops him and asks what’s going on with Gwen. He explains that nothing has worked out…Gwen can’t get over Theresa. Ethan breaks away and heads upstairs.
Ivy gets on the phone and calls Gwen. She tells her that Ethan is pining for her in his room. Ivy tells Gwen she should never give up on her first love, never let another woman get in the way of the man of your dreams. Gwen agrees to come over to talk to Ethan.
Ivy goes into the living room and tells Julian that Gwen is coming over. Julian is sitting on the couch with a Cheshire cat grin on his face. He tells her he knows her secret…she has a long lost love out there somewhere. He asks who it is. Ivy tells him it’s obvious…and he lives there in Harmony. She tells him it’s him, Julian. This puffs Julian all up. She ruins it by becoming cynical again. She explains that she was just telling that to Gwen in order get Gwen over to the mansion.
Out in the entry Theresa walks in and heads upstairs. In Ethan’s room he vents to Theresa and she offers to help him with the project. His neck is tight because he’s tense. Theresa offers to massage it for him. He refuses initially but then changes his mind and lets her give him a massage. In order to get the knot out of his neck Theresa urges him to lay on the bed. She climbs on to his back.
Downstairs Ivy lets Gwen in and sends her upstairs after telling her again that he’s upstairs alone, depressed, and pining away for her. She heads up and walks into the room and catches Theresa laying on/next to Ethan.
In New Mexico Luis vows that they’ll find his long lost father. Just then Martin approaches the cabin. He heads up to the porch and trips. The noise prompts Luis to see who’s outside. Just then Martin walks into the cabin and Luis grabs him slamming him against the wall. He asks, “Are you my father? Are you Martin Fitzgerald?” Martin looks at him and says, “Luis.” This makes Luis furious and he tussles with Martin. Sheridan calls out on the bed distracting Luis for just a second. Martin makes a break for it but Luis grabs him and throws him to the ground outside of the cabin. He pulls Martin up and slowly backs toward the cabin. Just then he steps on the container that had broken when Martin had tripped earlier. Martin uses that moment to break free and runs off into the woods.
Luis limps back into the cabin as Sheridan is moaning and crying out for help on the bed. He shushes her and she murmurs that she’s safe in his arms.
The phone rings and it’s Martin calling. He explains to Julian that Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald almost killed him. He warns Julian he’d better do something soon or he’s spilling the beans. Julian tells him he’ll be coming to Santa Fe.
At the Bennett house Simone makes excuses for Kay not joining them. She tells Jessica how Kay is feeling about Miguel and Charity. Jessica expresses sympathy for Kay but says that it’s better this way.
Out in the Bennett backyard Tabitha gives Kay an amulet/broach. She tells her that if she looks into the center stone she’ll see the man she’s to be with for all eternity. The face that appears is Miguel. Kay tells Tabitha to give it to Charity, the face that she’s seen is the guy she’ll never be with. Tabitha fast-talks and turns on all her acting skills to convince Kay that she can still eventually have Miguel. Timmy stands on the other side of the shrubs sobbing over Tabitha’s sad tale of the love she loved and lost as a young girl. Kay is won over and her determination to fight for Miguel is rekindled.
Kay re-enters the house with a serene look on her face. She agrees to be in the pictures. She walks over and stands between Miguel and Charity. Grace snaps the photo.
Tabitha watches this through the window. She’s thrilled that her plan has worked. Timmy tells Tabitha he’s sorry about her losing the boy she loved. He’s touched that she keeps him around for company. Maybe he could call her “mommy” now. She sets him straight and explains that she made up the story to convince Kay. She accuses Timmy of having ADD and threatens to lock him in the attic with Fluffy.
Kay hears Miguel tell Jessica that he’s taking Charity to the Book Café. Kay rushes into the kitchen and calls Reese. She asks him out for a date and tells him she wants to go to the Book Café.
