Passions 11/29/99
Charity is tied to the stake and being prepped by everyone
in advance of the “fake” flames. Tabitha is below the stage lighting matches
and starting a “real” fire from below. The smoke starts to rise out of the
logs but no one notices.
They leave her tied to the stake while Grace is getting
everything ready. Charity asks Miguel if she’s looking flushed…she says
she’s getting warm. Kay offers to take her part, but Charity says she’ll do
it. Otherwise Grace would have to shuffle everything around. Meanwhile under the
stage Tabitha is upset because the fire isn’t catching fast enough. She tells
Timmy she was the one responsible for the fire of London. On stage Charity
complains about being hot again and Miguel, Kay and Jessica take a trip to the
soda machine so they can get drinks for everyone. Next to Charity’s feet the
fire finally catches.
Charity concentrates on her lines as the smoke starts to
billow around her. Below the stage Timmy is choking on the smoke as Tabitha fans
the flames. On Stage Miguel returns and notices the fire, he tells Charity to
start untying himself as he attempts to put out the fire. Tabitha continues to
frantically fan the flames…she does not want Miguel to save Charity this time.
In the hall everyone starts to smell the smoke. Sam, Hank,
and T.C. rush in to rescue Charity. Grace brings scissors and just as they’re
going to cut Charity free the fire roars up and forces them back. Charity is
having a hard time breathing with the smoke. The men work furiously to save her
as the women watch on. Below the stage Tabitha grabs Timmy and they leave,
she’s assured that nothing can save Charity now. Above her, Charity passes out
on the stake.
Tabitha and Timmy go upstairs to the auditorium to watch
Charity die. Just as they sit down Timmy spies the angel girl outside the
window. She flies in and appears before the stage. She blows on her hands and
Miguel notices Charity passed out. He rushes to her just as T.C. enters with a
water hose. The angel girl goes away. They free Charity and lay her out on the
floor. Miguel urges her to wake up and Tabitha goes over and says, “the poor
girl seems to have expired.” Everyone turns to look at her with puzzled gazes.
Miguel screams “no she’s not dead!” Tabitha puts on a concerned act as
Miguel refuses to say that Charity will die.
T.C. comes back in with an oxygen tank. Sam asks who had
the torch and Kay goes to get it. She comes back with it and says it wasn’t
lit. T.C. looks at it and says she’s right. Kay goes off to the side and
Jessica approaches her and demands that Kay tell her she had nothing to do with
the fire. Kay explains that she doesn’t want Charity dead, she just wants her
not to remember her past.
Soon Charity comes to and she sits up saying “Miguel you
saved my life again.” Seems she remembers his saving her life at the first
fire…her memory has returned.
Tabitha and Timmy hightale it out of the auditorium and
outside they run into the angel girl. She tells Tabitha that she’s finished.
At the cabin Theresa tells Ethan that her dream is
happening. She’s in a cozy cabin with snow and a fire. Ethan asks her if she
wouldn’t actually be happier on a date with her dream man. She changes the
subject to dinner and goes to the kitchen to cook.
After Theresa leaves the room Gwen calls the cabin again.
She tells Ethan that the plows are coming through and she’ll be coming to the
cabin after all. Ethan tries to talk her out of it as Theresa listens from the
kitchen. Gwen pouts because she can’t be with him. They decide next getaway
will be to the beach instead of the mountains. Gwen hears Theresa drop something
in the kitchen and asks Ethan what she heard. He gives her a quick excuse and
hangs up as fast as he could.
In the kitchen Theresa is crying. She tells him she’s
upset because she dropped the caviar and she knows it’s expensive. Ethan tells
her not to worry. He suggests they have a cook off. He’ll make Clam Chowder
and she tells him she’ll make Shrimp and Spanish rice. They decide to also eat
raw oysters with lemon so it won’t go to waste.
Later they eat dinner by the fire and both declare the
other’s dish to be wonderful. Ethan then changes the subject to being worried
about Gwen. She hadn’t called yet and was supposed to do so the minute she got
home. He tells Theresa that he isn’t asking her to lie to Gwen about her being
at the cabin and Theresa tells him she doesn’t mind. She gets up and grabs him
and they go outside to have a snowball fight.
When the return inside the electricity goes off and Ethan
tells Theresa it may drop to freezing that night so they’ll need to sleep in
front of the fire. She reminds him she has no jammies and he tells her there
should be extras in the bedroom. She goes and puts them on. They’re huge and
they dwarf her. When she comes out Ethan apologizes to her again for her being
stuck at the cabin. She turns away and in a low voice tells him it’s time for
her to tell him the truth about her feelings. She confesses again about her
feelings for him (remember at the ballet?) she turns around and Ethan isn’t in
the room. He’s gone to the bedroom for more pillows and didn’t hear a word
she said.
He sets up his bed across the room and Theresa urges him
to sleep closer to the fire with her so he won’t be as cold.
In New Mexico Sheridan and Luis are about to be put into
the honeymoon suit at their hotel. They insist on having two different rooms.
They assume that manager thought they were there for a quick roll in the hay
because they had no baggage when they checked in.
Sheridan and Luis both take showers and wrapped in their
respective towels open the adjoining door at the same time. They both thought
they were going into the closet. They figure the manager was not buying their
story about wanting separate room and gave them adjoining rooms. They say
goodnight and shut the door. Luis looks in the mirror and has a flashback to
himself as a young boy and his father telling him he signed up for baseball and
would get the money to pay for it. Luis comes back to reality and asks his empty
room how he got the money…if he stole it from the Cranes.
That night Sheridan has a nightmare in which she sees the
face of the man she killed and cries out “I did it, I did it, I did it” over
and over and over again. Luis crashes through the door and holds her in his
arms.
