Passions 9/22/99

At the rec center we’re treated once again to seeing Luis half-naked, with Sheridan seeing him full naked and letting her jaw hit the locker room floor. Luis cocky as ever is un-fazed by the interruption. Sheridan escapes back into the office and runs into Hank. Luis teases Sheridan that she possibly went into the locker room looking for a cheap thrill. (Of course an argument ensues between the two of them.) Sheridan is anxious to get to work and get her community service over with. Luis tells her he knows a job she "might" be qualified for. He assigns her the task of ordering lunch.

Hank gets on Luis for being too hard on Sheridan. Luis being as pious as normal argues that he is correct in how he’s acting and that it is the wicked Cranes causing all the trouble. Sheridan returns with Chinese food for lunch. The choices include: Moss Soup with mushrooms, fried frogs legs with balsamic pears, cow tongue with a rice crust, steamed wild duck sautéed with gizzard in a sweat and sour snail sauce. Luis explodes on her and accuses her of not thinking of anyone but herself. Of course this is after he had assured her she could choose what they were having for lunch. Sheridan cracks up and tells Luis that she ordered him steamed rice and beef and broccoli.

Hank says Sheridan’s food smells great and they get on the subject of Hong Kong. Turns out they’ve both been to the same restaurant in Hong Kong. Luis is not impressed. They continue to talk and it comes out that Luis was the heartthrob of Harmony High. He was the captain of the football, basketball, and baseball team. He was the class president and valedictorian. Sheridan can’t understand why Luis would not have gone to college. Hank explains a bit about the "wonderful" guy that Luis is.

Later Sheridan is furious to learn that Luis did a background check on her.

While at the hospital, Kay tells Simone that she’ll continue to try and find a way to get Miguel to be interested in her instead of Charity. Simone is incredulous over the fact that Kay still believes she can get Miguel after all he’s been through with Charity. She reminds Kay that Charity IS FAMILY and an orphan, (but of course Kay is a teen witch and refuses to think of anyone but her self so family doesn’t matter.) Kay fantasizes about convincing Charity to join a convent. We see Charity in a habit and Miguel making out with kay. We find out that they’re now married and have children. Kay asks Charity if she isn’t glad that she talked her into joining the convent. Charity is not happy about this and starts beating Kay with a ruler. Kay comes out of the fantasy and says that that idea will never work.

Sam and Grace discuss not traumatizing Charity further, and worry over the fact that Charity doesn’t even remember Miguel.

Kay then fantasizes about selling Charity off to a sweatshop. She meets with two men who trick her and take both Kay and Charity into the sweatshop to work. We see them both slaving over sewing machines. Turns out Charity is a better worker than Kay and she decides that idea will not work.

Simone tells Kay that she is weird. "Who else would think of selling their cousin to a sweatshop?" She wants to know if Kay is really that desperate to get Miguel.

Miguel is with Charity, reeling from Charity’s memory loss. Charity doesn’t remember meeting Miguel. She asks Eve if she should remember him. Miguel is convinced that it is actually Charity’s vision causing the trouble. Eve does a simple check on her eyes. After Eve puts drops into Charity’s eyes and has her tell her what is hanging on the wall she tells Miguel that Charity should recognize him now. She still does not recognize Miguel. Miguel pleads with her to remember. Charity asks Eve why she should recognize him. Eve does not answer.

Simone and Kay walk over to Sam, Grace, and Miguel, to check on Charity’s progress. Kay is overjoyed to find out that Charity does not remember Miguel. Kay blurts out that it’s wonderful. Miguel asks how she can think it’s wonderful. Kay says she thinks it’s wonderful that Charity woke up, that’s all.

Grace worries that Charity will have amnesia much like she did after her fire 20 years ago. This of course thrills Kay to no end. She’s hoping that Charity will have amnesia for the next 20 years. Miguel meanwhile is in the room praying that God will let Charity remember him.

Across town at the Crane mansion we have Ivy asking Ethan if Theresa was his stalker. (No question like that would be worth it’s salt unless accompanied by a series of flashbacks chronicling the entire serious of mishaps between Theresa and Ethan. Since we’ve NEVER seen this before it was a GREAT treat. <said with all the sarcasm I can muster>) Frank pulls Ethan aside and tells him he can get the police to the house in 5 minutes, but first Ethan must identify Theresa as his stalker. Pilar walks in and Frank jumps to question her. Ivy tells Pilar that if Theresa is the stalker she could go to jail due to the stalker laws in their state. Pilar says "Theresa never hurt Ethan." Frank asks if this means that she’s admitting that Theresa is the stalker? Pilar looks at Theresa. Ethan surprises everyone when he says she is NOT the stalker.

Frank doesn’t want to let it drop. Ivy is p*ssed off and tells Frank to BACK OFF! Ivy then starts to work on Ethan to get him to propose to Gwen again. She and Gwen leave. Frank heads to Ethan to push the issue of Theresa being the stalker. He refuses to let this go. Frank tells Theresa that she is a very lucky girl and then leaves.

Ethan asks to speak with Theresa alone. Pilar leaves. Ethan tells Theresa that he knows she’s the stalker. She tries to convince him that she was not stalking him. That everything was an accident. She turns to leave, and Ethan stops her, telling her "you’re not getting away that easily."
