Gonna do a special Cheers and Jeers column this week-- since the storylines didn't progress as much and I need to spice up the column a little bit.. Let me know what you guys think.
CHEERS- Gwen Winthrop (shocked, aren't ya?!?) But Gwen did the right thing this week by bringing little Ethan to the hospital so that Theresa would remain calm, therefore keeping the Gwethan embryo safe. Of course, Gwen doesn't realize that it isn't she and Gwen's child-- but that'll unravel later. I really enjoyed Gwen's realization that little Ethan truly does love his own mother, Theresa. This was shown in Gwen's statement that, "One day, I am going to have the love of my own child.. just like little Ethan feels for Theresa."
JEERS- Liz Sanbourne. GO AWAY, please-- you are bugging me. Nuff said.
CHEERS- Julian Crane-- for forcing Whitney to see that she is hiding her feelings for Fox and misinterpreting them into hatred for her other and Julian. This is just STUPID. I am not a Foxney fan BY ANY MEANS-- but the truth remains-- this relationship needs to be explored and then ended, so everyone has closure.
JEERS-- "Hypocritney" Russell. The people on other message boards with their, "Oh my gosh-- Whitney really loves Fox.. she just doesn't know how to deal with it" make me sick. Whitney is LEADING CHAD on.. Announcing they will be married-- just to spite Fox. Poor Chad-- he has to be USED by this woman yet again. I am pulling even more now for Ethan and Whitney to end up together-- they both use people for their own means. Whitney snuggling up to Chad and kissing and hugging on him while staring into Fox's eyes as if seeming to say, "See-- you really can't have me." TACKY, just unbelievably tacky.
CHEERS- Eve's past came out-- oh my GAWD. I am so happy this is finally out in the open-- even if it isn't complete yet-- it was nice to see the truth out on the table.
JEERS- TC "I-really-need-Anger-Management-Therapy" Russell. What in the world was with his reaction?!? "You lied to me!!!" and then proceeding to destroy his entire house in a blind rage. I was SO hoping that he would just reach out and grab Liz in his rage and kill her. RUN, do NOT walk away from this man, Eve-- he is not worth your tears. If he REALLY loved you-- he would not judge you for your past. PERIOD. End of discussion.
JEERS- Charity Standish. Her exit was pathetic and did absolutely nothing to justify the fact that we spent five years trying to get to know her. Sorry, Charity-- you did not get justice. And even though I was never personally interested in your storyline-- I know that many people were, and I feel sorry for you and your fans that you were robbed of a proper goodbye. Take care, premonition girl :)
JEERS- Fox Crane. They are RUINING his character. Pining away after a woman who claims to not want him?!? Fox was the ONLY man in Harmony who had a decent "pair" on him, if you catch my drift. He never fell prey to the actions that befell people like Chad, Ethan, Sam, TC, Julian. He was a strong man. But-- we all knew it was a matter of time until he drank the water, kids. Hopefully the writers can salvage his character.
CHEERS- Ivy Winthrop. I LOVED seeing Ivy smashed this week. Her whole world is teetering on the goings-on of the Russell household, and I LOVED IT. It's about time that Ivy paid the piper.
JEERS- Luis Lopez Fitzgerald and Sheridan Crane-Lopez-Fitzgerald. They SURVIVE the car blast again. SNOOZEFEST. They could have taken the budget for that exploding car and hired some new writers to give us better storylines. I think we deserve it.
CHEERS- Luis LF and Sheridan CLF-- for their scenes on Aero Sombrero. These were CLASSIC Sheridan and Luis-- joking and laughing. These scenes were actually very well-written and were a nice departure from the doom and gloom we've all been enduring for months. Well done.
and FINALLY-
CHEERS- NuSimone Russell. I think this actress is going to be an exciting addition to the show, and from spoilers-- it looks like she is gonna get some meaty storylines coming up. In my humble opinion-- this girl slipped into the role of Simone very well. Much better than previous recasts for numerous characters who took a while to really "get" into their characters. NuSimone is absolutely beautiful. I cannot wait to see her alongside Whitney-- they look like they could actually be related.. It's wonderful.. Hopefully this new actress won't get bogged down and lost in the shuffle that has been Simone, Jessica, Hank, Reese, Beth, Mrs. Wallace, etc. These characters were quickly shut into very limited roles. Good luck, NuSimone-- I wish you well :)
Til next week,
