Hey guys-- yet another frustrating week in Harmony-- at least from this reporter's stance.. so here we go, let's dig in.
Charity is seeing all the bad things that has happened since she arrived in Harmony spinning around her like the rings of Saturn. She resolves she must leave Harmony-- homegirl, if things are spinning around you.. you don't need to pack to leave town-- you NEED to pack and head to the psych ward, AGAIN. JER is writing this so poorly. Once again-- he passes up an ultimate opportunity in Charity and Miguel's exits. The ideal would have been for Charity and Miguel to discover Kay's duplicity in all things evil, and then get married in Sam and Grace's living room and leave town forever. Another opportunity wasted. Alas, Miguel and Charity-- we never knew you.
This week was such FILLER in the Russell household. Eve gets called away, AGAIN.. (we are still on the same night.. so much for the fast pace we had going for a while.. we've been on the same night for almost a month now).. Irma falls asleep, TC yammers, Liz threatens Ivy.. BLAH BLAH BLAH.. wake me when the truth breaks.
Sheridan gets played by Alistair again.. BLAH. But she actually took a shower this week and FINALLY brushed her hair, so I am willing to overlook it this week, even though we were subjected to YET another murder attempt by Alistair. OOHH-- Alistair is gonna kill Sheridan? Who wants to bet that Luis and Sheridan magically get away from the car that exploded on Friday? I got everything I own on it, baby.
So we get to live through another Foxney fantasy.. BLAH. Why can't anything these two share be real? Oh yeah, that's right-- because their "relationship" is all in Fox's head, or rather-- all in JER's pen.. since the majority of fans are NOT buying this.
Has anyone noticed how abusive Whitney is towards men? She's got a lot of anger, so far on the show, she has smacked Fox several times this week, Julian in the past.. and she sure trashed the heck outta Chad for 2 years before she finally fell for him. Homegirl needs to check into some anger management classes and get in touch with what her problem is. I am gonna go out on a limb and say that it is from her domineering father running her life for all this time. Whitney's got some issues, friends.
Theresa is crushed at the loss of Antonio this week, and once again-- although I love Lindsay Korman, I am not buying her grief. I didn't buy Miguel's, nor Theresa's and Luis and Sheridan have hardly shown any anguish at all. The only person whose anguish I bought was Pilar's.. hook, line and sinker. Pilar was the only person in Harmony who ever really cared and loved Antonio, everyone else was so involved with their own drama to rekindle their familial relationships with him. But, can't say that wasn't deserved.. Antonio never offered any explanations about why he stormed out, and never really tried to bond with any of his family once he returned.
When is Paloma going to find out that her oldest brother has died? Oh yeah, that's right-- she's too busy throwing things at the door in disgust at her family to listen to anything. I am sorry-- but I remembered this week.. Pilar visited Paloma MANY times during the course of the show, I know one Christmas for sure.. she mentioned how she had just returned from Mexico and visiting Paloma. It was around the time Theresa rebuilt her mother's house. So, this whole-- my family never loved me, don't care about me thing, BLAH BLAH BLAH. Clearly another wasted plot by JER, and yet ANOTHER forgotten story. Par for the course around here.
Best part of the week-- Sorry guys, none. It is taking everything in my body to even tune in these days. JER's treading a fine line.. and I hate to say this-- but I'm actually looking forward to the Olympics so I can get a break and hopefully I will appreciate the show once I haven't been able to watch it for a while.
Worst part of the week-- Fox and Whitney.
And now, for my RANT OF THE WEEK-- This week, I am surprised at who I'm handing it to. Mister Fox Crane. I wanted to reach into my television and slap the heck out of that boy this week. Theresa was on the ground, writhing in pain over the loss of her brother, and fearing something was wrong with the baby-- and Fox stood there. Read that again-- Fox just stood there. I know Theresa hurt him, but they both agreed that they were still going to be friends, and I know that is always easier said than done.. but to see him barely react to Theresa's pain because his slapfest with Whitney was interrupted was ridiculous. I'm getting to the point where I don't even want to see Fox and Theresa get back together. I'll give the show some more time.. since I firmly believe that the baby Theresa is carrying is going to end up being Fox, even though miscarrying the embryo would have meant a miscarried F/T baby.. we know that JER has never paid attention to reason. Shape up, Fox.
Til next week,
