Censor's Passions Commentary - July 12, 2004

Kay taunting Charity with the butter knife, ordering Charity to "kill her now." Please do, Charity.  Kay is bugging the holy crizzap outta me.  I mean, this girl has done everything under the EARTH (hehe) to get Miguel, only to settle for being second best.  Guilt-tripping Charity over bringing "EVIL" to Harmony is the last straw.  Homegirl-- you were the one who sold your soul to Hecuba, which kicked this WHOLE thing off.  That, and living with Tabby-- whom you KNOW to be evil.. you did it all yourself.  I hope you enjoy life alone when Miggy abandons your sorry bootie and hightails it out of Harmony lapping at Charity's heels.  You reap what you sow, Kay-- and you're about to come into your own harvest.  (or lack thereof as the case may be)

Charity laments about leaving Harmony, but ends up swapping tearful spit with Miguel by the end of the week- who wants to take bets how many times Charity changes her mind before she finally rides off into the sunset?  Why couldn't the writers just KILL Charity and Miguel?  That would be so much more watchable than "I'm leaving, I can't leave now, I'm leaving, I can't leave."  Makes me wanna throw things at my TV.

Someone-- PLEASE tell Sheridan to go get a comb and BRUSH HER HAIR!  I am so sick of the curly/unkempt look.  This is not my Sheridan.  Then again-- she hasn't been "my Sheridan" since she surfaced in St. Lisa's.  On second thought-- forget it.. Sheridan's a lost cause-- just give her dreads or something and call it a day! :)  Sheridan and Luis are so heartbroken over Pilar's predicament that they go sleep in the doctor's quarters.  What happened to sitting by Pilar's side?  So much for that.

More nightmares with Sheridan.  Looks like they are going to do away with her "having killed" anyone as she admitted to Eve almost 4 years ago under hypnotherapy.  Looks like Martin just got stabbed by Alistair and apparently Sheridan walked in at the wrong time.  Go figure.  BORING.

Miguel's portrayal of his grief over Antonio's death was quite surprising.  I don't remember Miggy and Antonio bonding, other than Sheridan and Antonio's wedding and Pilar going into the hospital the first time.  You remember, dontcha?  The one where Miguel stood up for Luis and Antonio almost hit Miguel for doing so?  Yeah-- Miggy's real broken up.  I thought it was good to see such emotion, but it was misplaced-- Miggy and Antonio pursued no kind of relationship upon Antonio's return.  It is a waste to see them try to build one now after Antonio's death.

TC has got to be the BIGGEST IDIOT EVER!  First, he doesn't recognize Julian's voice as the mystery call to leave the house, and now he keeps hearing Liz talk about Aunt Irma.  Obviously, TC never graduated 3rd grade.. having never learned to put 2 and 2 together.  This is such a waste.  TC is gonna go over the top about Eve's past.. I thought it very interesting that they showed the flashback of Eve talking to Alistair about how she had only been with Julian.  This kind of flies in the face of the whole "whore, tramp" discussion that Irma's got planned, right?  If Julian was her only beau-- and she met TC shortly after she gave birth to her child.. then when exactly did her "whoring" days occur?  Just a question.

I can't wait for Liz to hear that Antonio is dead.  That is gonna RULE.  I hope she cries.  A LOT.  Although, she will probably find some stupid way to blame Antonio's death on Eve and add it to the myriad of problems that Eve had supposedly caused to ruin Liz's life.  Liz-- read my lips-- GET ON THE BOAT AND GO BACK TO ST. LISA'S.. you're bugging the crizzap out of me.  TC is gonna figure out that you masterminded the whole scenario, and HATE you too for ruining his "oh-so-perfect" life.

LOVED seeing Eve tell the truth to Julian.  That the fact of the matter remains that no matter what happens with the fallout from her past that Julian is never going to be enough to fill that void.  THANK YOU.  For once-- Eve finally laid bare the feelings of betrayal she must have felt when Julian followed Alistair's orders and deserted Eve.  Of course the writers ruined that scene by having them embrace the very next second and having Eve apologize.. but it was nice to see a kernel of truth going on in the Russell House.  They are so few and far between, ya know :)

Ivy admits (somewhat) to Gwen that she had something to do with splitting Sam and Grace up.  All the while, Sam is strolling down memory lane with Ethan.  Ethan swears Gwen is the only one for him.  Anyone find it convenient that NOW that TheRox have broken up, all of a sudden.. Ethan is making the "true love" wistful face he wore for years.  Eric has assumed the face very nicely from Travis.  It's ridiculous.  Gwen returns to her insecurity ONCE again.. questioning whether she is "the one" for Ethan.. (I predicted that Gwen's new haircut would be a return to fiesty Gwen of days past.. I was VERY wrong-- she's still suffering from a lack of self-respect-- go figure.)

Theresa and the gang head to dinner.. where Chad promptly starts cross-examining Fox for details on his "mystery woman."  Who in the sam hill does Chad think he is?  Badgering Fox and "demanding" to know who his love is?  This was bull-- and the whole thing about Fox and Chad being best friends?  I thought he was best friends with Ethan.. my bad.  Theresa tells Whitney Fox loves her, and then tells Fox she told Whitney.  THANK GAWD.  The sooner everyone knows the truth-- the sooner Foxney will IMPLODE.  Then all will be good again :)

BEST PART OF THE WEEK-- Eve telling Julian that he isn't enough to fill the pain she is about to come into.  ABOUT TIME.

WORST PART OF THE WEEK-  Martin and Katherine's memories.. AGAIN.  This is so boring-- are we to honestly believe that they have spent the last 25 years replaying their past?  COME ON.

And now-- a triumphant return to my RANT OF THE WEEK-- and this week-- we return to an old favorite for ROTW-- Gwen Winthrop.  What a freakin' hypocrite.  She tells Ivy that she is "behind her" after Ivy admits (half-heartedly) to breaking up Sam and Grace for her own personal gain?  So, Gwen supports anyone's bad deeds.. except for Theresa?  Theresa is the devil, who came between supposed true love with Ethan and Gwen.. even though in the early days of the show, Gwen admitted several times that Ethan had cheated on her while they were in college.  Yup-- that sounds like true love to me.  Gwen-- your hands are JUST as dirty as Theresa's when it comes to Ethan.. and you would do well to remember that.  Get off your high horse, divorce Ethan and seek LIFE ELSEWHERE!  This is getting ridiculous.  They have been married for almost 2 years now.. and Gwen still whines about whether Ethan really loves her.. If you have such doubts, Gwen-- stop sleeping with Ethan and get on with your life.. because remember that old adage, "When you lie down with dogs, you're going to get up with fleas."  Ethan is the biggest BOW-WOW that ever hit Harmony, and you're infested at this point, pulling every trick you can to hang on to a man that is NOT ever going to love you the way you deserve to be loved.  YES-- I said it.. even Gwen deserves love.. it would pull her away from the ridiculous sadness that Rebecca instills and help everyone involved.

Til next week,
Censor
