Censor's Passions Commentary - June 14, 2004

Harmony was especially busy this week, with the usual mayhem.. let's dig in, shall we??

I absolutely LOVED Ivy facing off with TC, as well as Liz this week. These scenes really showed off Kim's talent-- it's been a long time since spitfire Poison Ivy was around.. and it was really nice to see her back. Ivy is really into it now.. neither of these characters are gonna go away quietly.. and Poison Ivy doesn't pack that Crane punch anymore.. I am loving the progress.. and it would be amazing to see Ivy get the comeuppance that she has had coming for so long.

Crazy thing that I noticed while watching TC and Ivy argue was there was an awful lot of chemistry between the two. I know-- I'm nuts-- but I kept sitting there watching them at each other's throats and was waiting for TC to throw her on the table and for the two of them to start mugging down. It's a pairing I would have never fathomed before, but it was oddly fitting. They are both crazy-- and it is a way for TC to have more lines than, "That (expletive deleted) Julian! He ruined my life!"

I also loved watching Sam face off against his best friend over Ivy's "virtue". What a huge laugh. Poor Sam, if you only knew the truth about the wool Ivy's been pulling over your eyes. You know what they say about love being blind, right? But these again were WONDERFUL scenes.. real emotion spilling through and it just made the show SO good this week. Of course, this is Harmony though-- and by the end of the week, TC and Sam kissed and made up.

Charguel waited for the results of Kay's condition. Sam, ever the supportive father, went after Miggy's throat at the knowledge that Miguel was responsible for Kay's situation. Of course, this isn't entirely true-- seeing as Kay isn't as "innocent" as they all want to believe. I LOVED seeing "evil Tabby" again.. as she planted the seeds of doubt in Charity's mind. Charity is reeling from guilt, and decides that the best thing to do is leave Miguel alone for good. (Anyone taking bets on HOW long that will last?? Especially with Molly and Jesse's impending exits right around the corner.) Tabitha is at her most fulfilling on screen when she is playing the "darker" Tabby.. and Juliet just does a wonderful job with the whole situation. She plays "bad" so good.. it's just delicious!

I enjoyed the appearance of Kay's "ghost" this week. Glad to know that Tabby made sure the ghost knew the "backstory" that Tabby laid down. You know-- the whole "Kay had a premonition you were in danger, Charity." Because seeing how the REAL Kay is unconscious-- Tabby wouldn't have had time to relay "their official position" to the ghost. (I am, of course, mocking the writers ONCE again) Charity runs from the hospital back to the Bennett's.

BOO to Miguel for leaving the hospital. I know that Kay is evil, and that this isn't ALL Miguel's fault-- but still-- Kay wasn't even conscious yet.. but Miguel comes to tell Charity that "he has to square things with Charity before he can worry about Kay." What a load of bull-- she is the mother of his child.. and he is chasing after a girl who keeps telling him OVER AND OVER again that she doesn't want to be with him, then leads him on, then tells him to go away. Charity's face as she told Miguel that it was truly over in the Bennett living room was really touching-- but at the same time, it smacked as false, since we know that they are both leaving, and that most likely-- it will be TOGETHER.

Hmm.. I see a funny comparison coming on. When Miguel chases after Charity-- it's true LOVE.. but before Ethan and Gwen were married (like 2000) when Theresa would chase after Ethan and talk about their love, and Ethan pushed her away, then kissed her, pushed her away, etc.. When Theresa was pursuing that-- she was branded a stalker.. but when Miggy does it-- it is because it's LOVE. Is this a sexist situation.. or is it just Theresa hate? Or-- are all the Lopez-Fitzgeralds just inbred with stalker-like tendencies?? Just a question :)

Harry and Patience's story came to a close this week. Of course, as in all their other lives.. Luis and Sheridan were torn apart by outside forces. Did we really need to see ANOTHER past life to know that these two lovers have NEVER been able to make it work. It was BORING this week. I kind of dug it last week-- but it just got ridiculous. Of course, Luis was near death, so Sheridan had to get "nekkid" to save him. Then she told Antonio she would press charges against Luis for kidnapping when Antonio threatened to kill him. "He gets a coffin or a jail cell." I was SO angry with Hank-- boasting about his cop skills to Luis when they got back to Harmony.. but at the same time, he heard Antonio basically blackmail Sheridan into pressing charges when they were still on the island.. and he just WENT ALONG WITH IT. Take his badge. (And his shirt.. so he can always be half nekkid for my good friend, ALLY! :) Just looking out for you Ally, babe :) At the end of the week-- Luis was chilling in the jail professing his love for Sheridan.

TheRox broke up this week. Sad, but not nearly as touching as I was expecting. Theresa's tears while telling Fox the "Reader's Digest" version of the story were very moving.. but Fox immediately seeing the picture of Whitney and "being okay with the breakup" was COMPLETE BULL! TPTB have not made so much as a mention of Fox's desires for Whitney since Christmas, and most certainly NOT since Therox became an official couple.. now ALL OF A SUDDEN-- it's "oh, well-- it's okay that I got my heart broken, because there's always my MYSTERY WOMAN." This was a total disgrace to the Therox union.. and will only serve to make Whitney look even worse than she already is.. especially when she was JUST promising Chad that she would "always be true" and all that jazz.. YUP-- until Fox is available.. then she'll be playing the "torn between two lovers" thing.. HATING THIS! But I hear that there is good news for Therox fans come July.. so I'll keep holding out hope.

Best part of the week-- Ivy facing off against TC and Liz.. she didn't accomplish anything-- but I have MISSED the Poison Ivy that we used to know and hate.. and Kim slipped back into that role so beautifully.

Worst part of the week-- Therox's breakup. It was just not well thought out, and not nearly as heartbreaking as it should have been. Never mind the fact that even if the breakup had been the "crying, yelling, heart wrenching" affair that it SHOULD have been-- the breakup still would have made my worst part.. because Therox is just THE couple for me.. and it's sad to see them apart now.

And now-- for my RANT OF THE WEEK-- this goes to the people south of the Border. I am so sick of listening to Martin and Katherine WHINING about what they did, but constantly assuring themselves that they "did the right thing." It is complete CRUD. Have they been having these talks every day for the past 15 YEARS?!? I think not. Just get these people to Harmony, so they can start paying the price for what they have done.

And a special this week-- an extra RANT OF THE WEEK-- This one goes out to the writers. HOW MANY FREAKING TIMES are you gonna have someone get grazed by a bullet? Are you kidding me with this? Almost everyone in Harmony has been grazed by a bullet.. these people are the worst shooters I have ever seen. Alistair hires some big bad assassin to take KaMart out, and the bullet GRAZES Paloma. If I were Alistair, I would be asking for a REFUND.

How's that for spicy?

Til next week,
Censor
