Hey all--
sorry I've been MIA with the column, but I felt that the interest was waning,
because the columns were too long, so I changed the format some.. and then my
favorite couple Therox were gone for the week.. but many doings in Harmony this
week all the same.. so here we go :)
For all the naysayers-- I actually liked the Sheridan/Luis remembrance of their
past life. It is much more interesting than watching ShuisAnt mumblings of all
their problems-- it an interesting send up to Pirates of the Caribbean, and it
actually made me NOT reach for the FF button, which is pretty unusual for this
show :) It's amusing.. Luis's accent is "almost" there all the time.. and
Antonio looks as bored with the character as ever.. could it be that Chris
Douglas can no longer hide his disdain for his character? Here's wishing that CD
gets a farewell befitting of someone who has been utterly wasted by JER.
I was really digging Evil Faith, and then Spectral Faith had to show up.. and
once again-- I just wanted to barf. I hate the saccharine sweetness of Spectral
Faith. Did anyone else think it is weird that SF basically admitted that the
"dark forces" have more power than the good side? She couldn't help Miguel
without extreme help from "above" to find Charity.. but EF could smack the crap
outta Charity with no problem? Could this be the end of the "good side" for a
while? I think so. Also-- another inconsistency-- SF had to beg for help to give
the info to Miggy.. but she could make Ivy choke with absolutely no help? Could
that be because Ivy, is at heart, truly evil? Is it easier for the good side to
affect evil people than people who are good at heart? Just a question to toss
out into the void.
"Kay as a Rottweiller" was boring to me.. I really hated this-- having Miguel
all of a sudden have to feel guilt towards the woman who ruined his life? As if!
Kay has turned his life a million different ways from Sunday, underwent an evil
transformation to try to kill Miguel's true love-- and now, in an ironic twist--
Miguel will be responsible for her "near death?" Let's face it-- spoilers or
not-- Kay ain't gonna die. This will merely serve as a catalyst for Miggy and
Charity to break up yet again. (Even though they aren't really together anymore)
Did anyone else notice that the "spear" was pretty small when Miggy threw it at
the dog.. yet when it speared Kay.. it hung out almost a foot on either side? Of
course-- it had to be bigger.. for effect. And the bottom line is that Miguel
doesn't owe Kay anything-- not even child support, considering the circumstances
under which that little girl, Maria, came into the world. My prediction-- Tabby
will convince Charity it is her fault Kay is injured.. Charity will leave, and
Miguel will chase her.. leaving behind Kay and Maria. And good riddance-- it's
about time that Kay realized that Miggy doesn't love her, is never gonna love
her-- and the fact is-- Kay should be taking care of that baby all by herself.
She doesn't deserve Miguel or his devotion to Maria. It was all ill-gotten, and
now Kay is gonna pay, in a sense, the price for her sins.
Paloma's near excitement at seeing that Pilar may have come to visit her was
touching-- but her sadness when it wasn't her.. was hard to buy. Paloma has been
spewing hate towards her family for a few weeks now-- I say it's time to get her
butt out of Mexico and fed-exed to Harmony as soon as
possible. She is wasting screen time being duped by KaMart. And the sooner she
arrives in Harmony, the sooner she will find that her "assumed TIO" Martin is
actually her father-- and all "heck" is gonna break loose. I can't wait.
Sam and Ivy's moments were interrupted by Ivy's choking brought on by SF.. and I
was kind of perturbed to see Eve trying to "call Ivy out" when Eve came to check
on her.. it was ridiculous. Why do these characters always have to spew
timelines of history whenever they are together.. it is a waste of Kim and
Tracy's talent-- let's see these two team up against Liz and bring her down. I
don't condone their evildoings-- but let's face it-- there always has to be
someone who is gonna do the dirty work.. otherwise the show wouldn't be
interesting-- why not Eve and Ivy teamed up to get all they want? I like them
better than GweBecca any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Best part of the week-- Sam and TC going at it, with TC blindly supporting his
wife's virtue-- won't he be SO disappointed when he finds out that the person
who ruined his life wasn't in fact, his arch nemesis Julian.. but the love of
his life, Eve? This is gonna be fun. TC is in for a rude awakening.. and all the
better for him to come to it-- without the support of his lifelong friend, Sam?
TC has been closely cutting ties for years-- let's just leave him ALONE and
maybe he'll go away.
Worst part of the week-- No TheRox. Although I hear there are some tear jerking
scenes coming up. Though I don't want them apart.. I am excited to see Theresa
feel compelled to tell Fox the truth as her lies have always ripped apart
everything else she has ever loved.
And finally-- my RANT OF THE WEEK-- Sorry, Ally-- this week.. it goes to HANK.
What in the world is this kid thinking? He just made the force, trying to prove
himself worthy of the brother he could never measure up to.. which would be Sam.
And what does he do when Antonio announces that he is stealing a boat to go kill
Luis since he has "kidnapped" Sheridan? Does he arrest him for threatening his
life.. NOPE. He jumps on the boat and aids him. This would be a crime no matter
how you slice it. Hank is under obligation by the law to take Antonio into
custody-- if not for the safety of his own best friend, Luis.. for the safety of
any others that Antonio might harm in his blind rage for revenge against his own
brother. Shame, Shame, Hank. Even Jack Gallagher would have known better, hon :)
Make us proud.. shape up, Hank.
