I have been
thinking a lot about the format, and with how crazy things have been in Harmony,
and (shockingly enough!) how fast the pace of the show has become.. I have
decided to change the format a little bit and streamline my column. It has just
gotten way too long.. and besides--Dustin does WAY better recaps than I do
anyway.. so I’ll just stick to what I know best—SARCASM about the show itself.
:) I hope everyone likes the change and PLEASE let me know what y’all think.
Well—they did it—Sam and Ivy made love this week. After being tormented by Sam’s
seemingly undying love for Grace, these two FINALLY bit the bullet—and it was
nice to see it—even though it was as SHORT as the THEROX love scene we got a few
months ago. Why are we treated to ridiculously long love scenes with Gwen and
Ethan and Whitney and Chad—but the GOOD couples that we are all shocked fall
into bed together, we get the kisses and then the ubiquitous “Ivy wearing Sam’s
shirt”, so they must have slept together camera angle. What a waste.
Well—Pilar made it.. is anyone surprised?? We all knew that the miracle drug
would save her at the very last minute.. typical writing. It was nice to see
Miguel and Theresa apologize for all the mistakes they have made that have
harmed Pilar (too bad Luis and Antonio keep acting their shoe size instead of
their ages) Tweedledee and Tweedledum were too busy duking it out over Sheridan
in the freakin' CHAPEL! What idiots. Sheridan is officially NOT WORTH it. Give it
up, guys.
Did anyone notice that Sheridan is playing the total battered wife syndrome? She
just does and says as Antonio orders. This is such a waste of MacKenzie’s
talent. I wish that they would have Antonio start hitting her or something—at
least then—we could see something other than Sheridan being led around like a
freakin’ Stepford Wife. It truly is a waste.
Fox’s diatribe on bastard children was a little tacky. I’m sorry guys—I love
THEROX as much as the next viewer, but to have him so blatantly insult Theresa’s
son like that was unnecessary. But of course, since they have Theresa raping
Ethan—anything is game around here.
Pilar’s riot act to Theresa was also completely inappropriate. Telling Theresa
that she should have sent Theresa away instead of Paloma was, in my
opinion—completely heartless. We have all seen Paloma now, and Pilar would have
to be an IDIOT to not know that Paloma was hurt by being separated from her
family. It was ridiculous. Pilar knew what Theresa was planning, and never cut
that deep when she was listening to Theresa’s plan.. jeez—Pilar is an accessory
to Ethan’s rape. She shouldn’t be playing the queen bee here. She is just as
guilty, because she helped Theresa. Just like Gwen is just as guilty as her
mother for her hand in the first tabloid scheme. Gwen didn’t put the first one
into motion—but she sure as hizell NEVER tried to stop it. Guilt is guilt, baby.
Speaking of the Hotchwitches—what in the world are they doing trying to tell us
that Heather was implanted again? Whatever!! Last we saw Heather, she was
running (and rightfully so) away from all these crazy people. She swore that she
never wanted to see ANY of them again. (smart girl!!) And now we hear that she
was implanted again—this was utter CRAP. I understand that this is all a ploy to
show the viewers how Gwen’s eggs are not viable—and that is why Theresa
miscarried, as Heather did. It also lays the stage for everyone finding out
about Ethan’s rape. Ya know—that whole deductive reasoning thing of “Why is
Theresa able to carry my unviable eggs?” thing. Ahh—what am I talking about?!?
Deductive reasoning—I must be crazy—this is PASSIONS.
Also—what was up with Gwen holding Theresa hostage and FORCING her to have her
blood drawn to PROVE her pregnancy? Last time I checked—Theresa had signed no
contract with Ethan and Gwen.. therefore—she is not legally bound by ANY of the
procedures that would be held to a legal surrogate. Especially since she broke
the law to get the embryo anyway. This was another ridiculous storyline. Next
thing we know—Gwen will be “happy” Theresa is carrying their child.. since they
now know they can’t have anymore. (I smell a spoiler) Too bad Gwen is gonna be a
three time loser.. her precious Sarah, Heather losing the embryo, and Theresa
losing hers and giving birth to Ethan’s “first child”. We all believe that
little Ethan is truly Ethan’s child—but we have no proof of that—so as far as
the show goes—this would be his first child—and of course, this one will live..
because life is that cruel.
I know Paloma is getting a bad rap—but this is something Cholo and I have
predicted for a few years now. That Paloma would be bitter. And she has every
right to be. For all she knows—her mother shipped her off because she favored
the other four. We have not heard Paloma mention that her father was gone when
she was shipped off, so it is entirely possible that she does not know. She has
lived in Mexico with only short visits from her mom years apart. And she is
angry that her brothers and sisters only call when things are bad. I’d be bitter
too J
Best part of the week—With my Mavs out—I was SHOCKED to see the T-wolves make
the playoffs. Way to go, T-wolves.. beat those LAKERS!! Also, in a tie for best
part of the week—the Rangers beat the Yankees 2 out of 3 in a weekend series
here in Texas. TAKE THAT—A-ROD.
Worst part of the week—Whitney whining about Eve and Julian’s “possible” affair
on Pilar’s deathbed. Just SHUT UP! The mention of Chad giving blood—we all know
that I feel that Chad being Eve and Julian’s child is completely disgusting.
And now for my RANT of the WEEK—The stupid memories with the mystery couple.
(Still not revealing their identities for those who want to be surprised.) They
fell in love at the FDD? Whatever. This is such creative re-writing by the
Passion’s writers. And it is completely stupid. They may redeem it—but right
now—I’m sorry—I HATE where the direction is going. Such a waste. We’ll see where
it goes.. but I am thinking NOTHING good can come of this whole nasty situation.
