When my mother was pregnant with me, my grandmother came over to help her. Whereas my mother watched a different soap prior to this, my grandmother watched ANOTHER WORLD. During this time, my mother got hooked on the show. I have watched the show all of my life; I am a 31-yr.-old French teacher. This show is something that I've always shared with my mother and my grandmother. Up until the day that my grandmother died when I was 16, I'd call her regularly to discuss what happened on the show that day. We'd chat about the Cass, Cecile, Kathleen fiasco or whatever else was going on at the time. When I heard that ANOTHER WORLD was going to be cancelled, I was quite saddened because this is something very special to me.

I really don't know what to say. My Mom started me watching Another World when I was a little girl. Now after 25 or so years it will no longer be my favorite world to escape to. I remember so many cast members. Rachel and Ada. Alice and Steven. Iris and Mac. Wally and Felica. Mitch and Matthew. Amanda and Sam. Cass and Kathleen. Vicky and Ryan. Paulina and Joe. Lorna and Gabe. I could go on for hours.. I don't understand why this is happening. I feel there is no need for it. NBC could have figured something else out. Get rid of another talk show. But to cancel Another World to make room for another soap is a slap in the face. Congratulations to the cast and crew of Another World! Hold your heads up high, and go out with a bang!!! You deserve it. Cuz nobody does it better. I wish all of you the best, in whatever you decide to do. TV will never be the same without Another World.

-A very sad fan, Dis

When NBC cancelled Another World, I was shocked. I thought that they surely would cancel the lower rated show. I could not believe it. I had watched other soaps that were cancelled but I never felt the sinking feeling you have when your best friends of more than 30 years tell you that they have to leave and you will never see them again. This is how upset I was when I heard the news.

I had waited a long time for Jake and Vicky to be together and now I was waiting for them to have a baby, a little miniature Jake or Vicky. But this will never be.

I cannot remember all the actors of AW that went on to have wonderful acting careers in movies or prime time but I can thank all the past and present actors, and the crew, for their limitless talent and their unmatched respect for their fans. No matter what they went thru, in the last few years, with the internal production and writing changes, they kept on giving even when they were rarely recognized for their talent. They made me laugh, cry, angry but I could never stop watching. They were part of my life.

AW is not just another show, this is why I will keep on fighting until the end in hope of an 11th hour reprieve.
If AW fans lose the fight, then I will follow the actors on whatever show they go on, to continue spending time with them, and to show my deep respect I will never watch another NBC soap, ever. May the Force be with us during our fight.
May God bless each and everyone one of the actors as they go on to other jobs, and those who are no longer of this earth but are still fondly remembered.

-A loving fan.

Every since I read the awful news about the cancellation of Another World I have been broken hearted. Another World was the first soap I ever watched at the age of 14. I started watching with my mother who past away in 1991. Having Another World around all these years was like having a link to my mother. Another World is like family so losing this wonderful show is like losing my mother all over again. I am now 49 years old so I grew up with all the characters of Another World. As I watch the end drawing near I feel so angry at NBC for making such a horrible choice. AW is the BEST soap on television, daytime and nighttime included.

My memories go so far back......Rachel, Steve, Alice from the good old days to Jake , Vicky and Cass & Lila from the wonderful shows of today. Not a day goes by that I don't cry thinking about losing all of these terrific actors and great stories. No soap comes close and I can only hope NBC realizes the awful mistake they have made when Passions tanks like I know it will. I love every minute past and present that I have spent with Another World and there will never be another 35 years like this in all of soap history. I say shame on you NBC for forgetting all of that history for your own selfish reasons. You never cared for the show, you never promoted the show, you never once tried to save the show. The only thing you care about is catering to 12 to 17 year olds who know nothing about what is good entertainment. I know with this stupid choice you have made you have alienated millions of viewers. I for one will turn off NBC after June 25, 1999. Enough ramblings about NBC they know what they are.

To AW I just want to say: Thank you. Thank you for a wonderful 35 years of great shows and great actors. You will be missed and I hope we all have a chance to see each and everyone of you together again someday...somewhere you are appreciated for the talent, dedication and dignity you all have showed through out this sad and trying time. I love all of you.

I was very disappointed to learn of the cancellation of Canada's #1 soap opera , Another World. AW has been part of my life for 23 years now, and I considered the characters "family", since they have been in my LR (Living Room) everyday, spending time with me. To see it come to an end after 35 years of brought much sadness,,,tears.....and anger.

The sadness is because of the loss of my family, the tears because I am mourning their demise,,,,,,and anger because NBC, made a big mistake in letting Another World go, and P&G for not backing up the show which has brought Millions in advertising dollars. Where is their loyalty?

To all the cast and crew , thank-you for all the years of great entertainment you provided. The hour a day I spent with you was truly enjoyable, relaxing...and fun. I wish for each one of you much success in your future endeavors.
