First of all, I was completely surprised when NBC decided to end the 35 year reign of AW. I've been watching for over 11 years and never even dreamed of the day it would end, it wasn't even in the realm of possibility.
I feel like each of these characters are a real part of my life, actual family members if you will. When Paulina was struggling with her weight and addicted to diet pills so was I. When Lorna was hurting so bad over her breakup with Grant I could identify with that because I also was going through a bad and hurtful breakup with a long term boyfriend who treated me badly. It's powerful stories like these that hit so close to home. AW is not a show about power, and struggle to keep it, but about family and home.

I am so going to miss Paulina and Joe, Remy and Nick, and yes even Jake and Vicky. These are incredible actors doing an incredible task, making these stories come to life and helping us grow.
What else is there on ''must see TV''? The options are scary...We can sit and watch a show that gives new meaning to the words ''artificial insemination''[ that would be SB], the new show about a voodoo doll, or we can be entertained by the possessed by Dr. Satan himself? I'm starting to see a pattern here...is NBC involved in Satanism?

Their idea of ''must see TV'' is NOT anything I'd let my kids watch, which reminds me, I started watching AW when I was pregnant with my first child, I now have 3 children, 1:00 was always my time out time and it just so happened to coincide with AW.

I will miss you my extended family, you have brought so much to my life and taught me more than you'll ever know, I'm so grateful for the time I did watch and am so sorry that there was nothing else I could do to keep you with me longer.

I will tell you though, I no longer buy P&G products, there are other light bulbs out there, and NBC gets my attention just one hour a day, but only 'til June 25. I feel betrayed by a network that I have been loyal to, a company that I didn't listen to all the rumors about in the 80's, and the people that bring good things to life.

Okay, it was on AW that I learned that the actress Karen Black had a sister. Her name is Gail Brown, and no those are not their real names. She played Clarice can't remember her last name back when Blaine was around. Now there was a character, the forerunner to Vicki, Blaine that is. I remember when Ryan came onto the soap, what an entrance saving Vicki who was on a runaway horse, that was a long time ago, maybe he spooked the horse or something and she was not what you would call grateful at first. As I try to remember all of the things that happened I find it very hard to articulate how I feel. Everyone has said it pretty much, I have to say though that I am not as happy with the Jake and Vicki story as everyone else seems to be. Die hard Ryan fan here. When Jake and Vicki came to Bay City they were not what you would call Bay City type characters. But the evolution of Vicki being Marley's sister and Donna going through all the the agony of learning she had another daughter was incredible. Of course Vicki was so jealous of Marley for a long time and poor Marley finding out that she was not Donna's sister but her daughter, my heavens you could just know what that situation would be like it was so well done. Many kudos to Ellen Wheeler who was the first to portray them and I thought Anne Heche was so cool in the double role. I didn't think I would ever get used to Jensen Buchanan but She really made that role hers and she knocked my socks off for many years. The scenes of Vicki and Ryan in Banff had me crying everyday.

I really loved Cass's first wife, Kathleen, I didn't think I would ever get used to him with Frankie but wow, what a hot couple. I think he and Lila are about the hottest couple for chemistry. I have loved all of the things that Cass and Felicia, Wally and even Tony the Tuna got themselves into. And throw in Jake in drag, well, it was just too funny. And the book store, that was a really nice time period. In those days, when Dean and Jenna and Matt were all living in that apartment building from hell that they fixed up and even turned into a cafe with a really cool name, can't remember what but I liked that whole scenario that these young people took that project on. And poor Lorna, with the arrival of Jenna she got pushed back to a bad place she was successfully climbing away from. Did you know that the actress that played Lorna Devon (the first one, Alicia Coppola), is Talia Shire's sister? And Carl's penthouse, wow what a place. I used to love it when they had scenes in there the furniture and decorations were just so cool. That was always something that Another World had, was very classy sets.

I remember Robin Strasser who played Rachel first but my favorite has always been Vicki Wyndham. I used to love it when she would be doing her sculpture. And I think she had great chemistry with Constance Ford who played Ada. And now Rachel is able to see how it must have been for her mother as Amanda is every bit as strong willed yet confused as Rachel was at her age. Well, she didn't *think* she was confused but she was.

Lest I forget, I'm going to give Irene Daily, (sp?) her due as Liz Matthews. She was always into somebody else's business whether she had all the facts or not. I didn't like her character for years and then something turned her around so that she could actually understand that no one is perfect. That's another thing that this show did so well, was to turn people from bad to good or small minded to seeing the light.

I always thought that Jake and Paulina were perfect for each other and I have not liked the story of her with Joe and him with Vicki, ever. I know I am in the minority on this but that's how I feel.

The only time I *ever* wrote a fan letter was when it looked like Rachel might be killed during the Alexander story. I told them that if she was killed I was out of there. I needn't have worried then but now, they're all killed.

Some of my all time favorite moments are when Carl fell in love with Rachel and pursued her in New York. I just loved all of the references to Shakespeare with the readings that they both did to each other. This must have sparked the project that they are doing, "Couplets" and the other one I can't remember the name of. I am so jealous of all of the fans who could attend the fan luncheons and meet VW and CK. I guess I had better put a stop to this before it turns into a book. I guess you could tell I'm really going to miss my show. oops, our show. :) :(

-Sylvia Matthews coming to you Live from Anchorage, Alaska

For over 10 years I have had the privilege to share an hour each day with one of my favorite families, the people of Bay City. We have laughed, cried, plotted, fallen in and out of love, and have gone through the good and the not so good together. This has been a privilege that has made a difference in my life. I cheered harder when I was also going through good times, I was able to escape when my day wasn't so good. For all those days and all the years of superb entertainment, I thank all the cast of Another World . There is not another soap opera on TV that can quite match your talent.
If this is truly goodbye, then the world will forever be a little less bright.

-Yours always, Caroline

I have been a faithful watcher of Another World for 35 years. I am deeply saddened by the decision to cancel it. It will be a huge void in my life. I do not watch any other soap opera. I refuse to watch another NBC or Procter & Gamble soap opera. My time is scarce (although I always found time for Another World), so I am thinking of starting to watch Port Charles since it is a half hour show. Thank you for listening.

-A true AW fan from Seattle

I would like to praise all the good acting and hard work that has gone into Another World. It will be sadly missed. This has been my favorite soap since high school and I am now 42.

Thanks to all the cast and crew of Another World. You will be missed.
