• Another daytime soap star may be joining Melrose this season. Rena Sofer (General Hospital) is in negotiations for a contract role.
• John Haymes Newton will play the role of Ryan (Kyle's Brother.)

July 1998 News

• Jack Wagner will direct a few episodes of Melrose this season.
• Daniel Cosgrove (Scott, All My Children) will join the gang this season.
• Josie Bissett's first airdate has now been changed to August 10th.
• Joining Melrose this season is John Haymes Newton, currently of the ill-fated Models Inc. No word yet on the character he'll play.
• Spoiler for July 27th episode: Amanda and Rory are off to the Dominican Republic to get married...but Kyle has other plans.
• More Spoilers: Expect the season finale to happen right before the fall season for other shows begins.
• Leaving Melrose: Andrew Shue, Lisa Rinna, Brooke Langton, Linden Ashby, and Alyssa Milano.
• Ex-Sydney, Laura Leighton is jumping to another Spelling vehicle. She can be seen in the first 6 episodes of this season Beverly Hills 90210 as Sophie Burns.
• An old flame of Jane's is set to appear on Melrose during the beginning of the season. His name is Alex, and he'll be played by Steve Wilder (ex-Jack, Days of Our Lives)
• Congratulations go out to Doug Savant and Laura Leighton on their recent marriage!
• Some are wondering if giving Heather Locklear producer status on the show, may extend the life of the series and allow MP to continue past this season.
• Seems the role of Ryan has been cast. The actor is supposed to be well known, but his name is not available yet.
• Happy Birthday July 11th to Lisa Rinna.
• Melrose Place is currently looking for someone to play Ryan, Kyle's younger brother.
• Frank South is leaving Melrose Place after 6 years as executive producer.
• Supervising producer Chip Hayes is also leaving MP this season.

June 1998 News

• Lisa Rinna posed nude for Playboy while pregnant. Pictures will be in the September edition.
• Rumor has it that Jack Wagner may be replacing George Clooney on ER when George leaves at the end of the upcoming season.
• Heather Locklear is set to be one of the producers on Melrose for the upcoming season.
• Melrose Place returns this summer with original episodes starting Monday July 27 at 8 p.m., with actress Josie Bissett rejoining the series Aug. 17.
• Melrose Place actress Lisa Rinna and husband Harry Hamlin, are celebrating the birth of a daughter, Delilah Belle Hamlin, Wednesday 6/10/98. Congratulations Lisa!
• Alyssa Milano has now filed 2 suits against online sites that sell naked (mostly faked) pictures of her.
• Lisa Rinna is going to pose for Playboy. Not sure yet if she'll pose nude or not.
