Eve locks the hospital down, to try and find the culprit. Fox and Whitney try to hide Theresa from Ethan during the search, but to no avail as Gwen sees her and realizes the truth when the implantation nurse points Theresa out as the “surrogate” they implanted. Gwen sobs at this turn of events. (Payback is such a ---, well you know)
Pilar, at the hospital for a treatment for her mysterious blood ailment, comes upon the group and is shocked at her daughter’s actions. Theresa lays out her plan. She will carry their child to term and gladly hand it over when it is born—but Ethan and Gwen must give her little Ethan back, first. Gwen tries to attack Theresa, but Pilar jumps in and tells her to back off. Rebecca finds out what is going on and thinks “Revenge is tacky.” (pot calling the kettle black much, Bex??) Theresa tells them that when they stole little Ethan, they took “the best part of her.” Theresa recounts GweBecca’s actions and Gwen resorts to whining when everyone seems to sympathize with Theresa. “Did you guys forget that she killed my daughter?” Give it up, Gwen—nobody believes you anymore... probably not even your own mother—she just won’t admit it, because if she did—you would have to realize the truth, and she needs you angry and full of rage to continue her vendetta against the woman (Theresa) who almost kept Rebecca from her “rightful throne” of Mrs. Julian Crane. Gwen demands that Eve get Dr. Simmons and remove the eggs from Theresa. Eve says it’s not that easy, and Gwen brandishes a broken bottle and threatens to cut Theresa open and get them back herself. Fox jumps in the way and Ethan pulls Gwen away AGAIN.
Pilar tells everyone that she doesn’t agree with Theresa’s actions, but that she knows why she did it—and tells Gwen and Rebecca to back off when they try to attack Theresa again. Rebecca threatens Eve and the hospital with a lawsuit if they don’t take the eggs back. Eve takes great pleasure in telling Rebecca that since Theresa defrauded the situation to get her endgame, that the hospital is not at stake here. Rebecca shuts up, QUICKLY.
Ethan, while disgusted, realizes that he and Gwen brought this on themselves when they took little Ethan from Theresa. Gwen goes off again, and threatens to leave Ethan AGAIN (promises, promises Gwen—just go ahead and do it—he doesn’t really love you... he told “Heather” that he only married you because he knocked you up.) Gwen tells Ethan that the only way to salvage their marriage is for Ethan to take Theresa to court and demand an abortion. (Funny—when Theresa was in trouble and asked Ethan for help... he was just a “corporate lawyer” and had no business in the family courts... but now that Theresa NEEDS to have an abortion... he’ll do. Such hypocrisy.) Never mind the fact that Gwen laid out the fact that Ethan and Gwen are very much against abortion when Theresa was considering aborting little Ethan. Gwen took great pleasure in telling Theresa that Ethan “would never be with a woman who advocated abortion”, but Gwen sure is singing a different tune now, isn’t she? Gwen just “cannot take the idea of Theresa giving birth to their child.”
Whitney and Fox take Theresa back to the Russell house to recuperate, and Theresa calls Pilar. She says that she needs her mother now more than ever. Pilar, ever the wonderful mother, goes against Eve’s advice that any more stress could kill her, and heads to be there for her daughter. Pilar comforts her daughter and says she “will stand by her until the end.”
