Whitney walks into the studio to see Chad counting a pile of money. She asks him where he got it—he explains that it came from Liz for their work at the benefit and he only took it to repay the “gift from Alistair.. he took a loan to take her out for Valentine’s day.. but he is going to repay the loan NOW. Whitney says the Cranes don’t do anything nice—not for no benefit. Chad goes to see Alistair and repays the loan while Julian is there, talking to Alistair. Julian is shocked at Alistair’s generosity and tries to figure out why Alistair is so fond of “affirmative action” these days. (way to go Julian—Alistair is a worse racist than Rebecca—call him on it—though it will do no good.. neither Rebecca nor Alistair have a conscience.. so they are wholly unaffected by guilt and decency) Later, Chad mentions to Whitney that he sometimes dreams of being a Crane and having that kind of money.. and Whitney says that if he were a Crane—that she would never be with him. (Really, Whitney?? Because there is no concrete proof as of yet that Chad is a Crane.. but there is no doubt that Fox is—yet you fantasize about him CONSTANTLY—more proof that Whitney’s hypocrisy grows with each passing hour)

Alistair and Julian have a battle of the minds about Chad.. Julian wants to know why Alistair gave Chad money. Julian “figures it out”.. and says that Alistair wants to hurt Eve. Because Alistair knows that Eve doesn’t want Chad and Whitney together, so he is trying to hurt Eve. (c’mon—Julian—you’re quickly losing my newfound like of you)

Rebecca and Gwen return from the benefit. Gwen thinks that Theresa may be moving on with Fox—and Rebecca says that she isn’t.. they (T and F) have not even slept together yet. Gwen feels guilt over the tabloid scheme and worries that somehow it will keep her from adopting little Ethan (foreshadowing, anyone?? Especially since Theresa mentioned the tabloid scheme and voiced her belief that Rebecca had something to do with it—and she also suspects Gwen in a heart-to-heart with Fox) Rebecca tells Gwen to manipulate Ethan’s emotions over Sarah’s death to get him to adopt Little Ethan. Gwen agrees and pulls out the waterworks when Ethan says that their adoption proceedings aren’t moving as quickly as they would like them to. Meanwhile, Theresa and Fox agree to stay the night as “friends”, but end up not being able to withstand the heat between them and make love. (pal, chum, beautiful- I LOVED THIS SCENE.. it was tasteful and beautiful.. very becoming of THEROX) Theresa tells Fox that she cannot turn the light off because she has slept with it on since she lost Little Ethan.. it makes her feel safer. Theresa is surprised at how safe she feels after being with Fox. She gets up for a drink and knocks over a book and Ethan’s picture falls out.. Theresa gives a heart wrenching, final goodbye speech to Ethan, closes the book on his picture and places it high on a shelf in a box.. and crawls back into bed with Fox, and TURNS OUT THE LIGHT. (thank GAWD.. Theresa is moving on and realizing that someone other than Ethan could love her!!)

Fox brings Pilar and Theresa beautiful flowers the next morning as the L-F family continues to pack. Antonio shows up to give Pilar some money (where did this freeloader get money?? He has no job, has not worked since he arrived in Harmony—but whatever!!) and then Antonio, after saying that he’ll never get over how his family took Luis’s side, and then Antonio leaves. The police show up with eviction papers that Rebecca requested be delivered.. and they move all of the L-F family’s stuff into the street. Hank and Sam are coming later with the truck, and it begins to rain. Theresa is served with papers that the custody hearing is beginning today. She and Fox rush to the courthouse, where Theresa sees Little Ethan. They embrace and Theresa begs Ethan to keep them from being torn apart—and Rebecca taunts Rebecca with her typical racist comments (that I will not repeat because I am a decent person) and Theresa goes off.. she throws Rebecca to the ground and starts whipping her butt (FINALLY—Rebecca has had this coming for a LONG time.. ) Ethan and Fox pull Theresa off.. Rebecca wants Theresa arrested for assault.. but E and F tell Rebecca to shut up and call the police off.
