What an amazing accomplishment - The Young and the Restless recently celebrated 1,040 consecutive weeks (that's 20 years!) as daytime's Number One drama. This, according to the Nielsen live plus same day ratings. The show's unprecedented ratings streak began on December 26, 1988 and hasn't stopped since.
As if that isn't enough, Y&R was also ranked first for the all-important soap demographic of women ages 24 - 54 for the 187th time in 191 weeks and first for women ages 18 - 49 for the 145th time in 155 weeks. Outstanding!
Just goes to show, even though we don't always agree with the stories being played out, the cast, crew, producers and writers at Y&R are giving us something to love...and we pray they keep it coming!
Congratulations, CBS and Y&R. Great job all around!
