More Exciting GL Casting News

Thursday November 20, 2008

Just days after word that Guiding Light fan fave, Grant Aleksander, will be reprising his role of Philip early next year comes news that another beloved star, David Andrew MacDonald will be returning as Edmund in January. Looks like a great start to 2009 awaits us, doesn't it?

Both characters have been off-screen due to unfortunate (and very daytime-esque circumstances). Philip was last seen in 2004 before his presumed death, whereas Edmund became comatose in December 2007 after Will pushed him over a church balcony.

Can't wait to see how the return of these two integral characters plays out with other Springfield denizens. Stay tuned for some exciting days ahead!

(2) Elizabeth says:

I love watching the GL. I started watching it years ago with my Mom. My comment is, why is noone on the soap allowed to have a happy ending? I miss Harley. I think that it is lizzie’s turn for some happiness. Look what she has been through.

(3) Lilygirl says:

Why in the world would they bring back Edmund.
San Cristobel is long gone and forgotten and the character of Edmund has been on the show 3 years longer than he should have been.
Give a good storyline to the characters who are there. Edmund does not need to come back to Springfield.

(4) Sharon says:

Yes, all three men will want Beth. Edmund did really love her most! Phillip needs Olivia and his baby.
Poor Alan will have a broken heart.
