Emmy Needs a Home
Can you imagine not witnessing a winning moment like Jeanne Cooper's (Katherine/Marge, Y&R) big win at the Daytime Emmy Awards last June? Unfortunately, that might happen.
At this point, nobody has laid claim to the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony. ABC, CBS and SOAPnet have all announced that they won't be airing the show, despite this supposedly being CBS' year to host.
So does this mean we won't be able to watch our favorite Daytime stars get the recognition they so deserve? Not necessarily. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is said to be in negotiations with two networks and two cable channels. Despite low ratings last year, it's hard to accept the Emmys are at risk. Hopefully the Powers-that-Be can get this all figured out in time.

Just wanted to say what a wonderful surprise to see Brock, Nina, Dina, Tracy and Liz return for Catherines’ “funeral” on Y & R. They all look as young as ever. What a great treat! Nina especially is absolutely as young ever.

Oh, I know! Don’t they all look awesome? It’s like time stood still for them all. I even read in Soap Opera Digest that Jess Walton (Jill) said the very same thing you did, especially about Nina!
It’s too bad it had to be sad circumstances that brought this family together again…now we can only wish that the truth will come out and that they’ll bring the real Katherine home and all celebrate the holidays together!!
I hope someone makes the decision to air the Daytime Emmys. I don’t always get to see it ‘live’ but never miss setting the DVR to watch it later.
ok, someone needs to find the daytime emmys a home fast. these soap opera actors/actresses, need this & so do we fans. all of the actors/actresses, need to be praised & awarded for their work..shame on abc, cbs, and soapnet for not airing it. and i have a big gripe about soapnet. i’m so sick & tired of 90120 airing everyday / all day, on thursday / saturdays, etc. i cannot stand that show. and to put that in front of airing our soaps, it sucks.. get rid of 90120, soapnet. enough already….i never watched it way back when & will not watch now either.
we have to have daytime emmy awards on . they alway find room for sports .i hate sports. i love to watch the emmy awards .years ago they had it on 2 times a year
